Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Lolita2014,  We also chose to go with Mega DJ for the reception.  They are less expensive than DJ All Music since they only include the DJ and do not include an MC.  My wedding planner recommended the iPod with speakers since that's what she used for her daughter's wedding.  She said it was acceptable sound but, I don't want to have to depend on one of the guests to operate it during the entire reception. So, I agree with M8Chow.  We are picking a lot of songs.  Probably not enough to last the entire evening  but as long as he sticks to the genres we've chosen it should be OK (R&B, Smooth Jazz, 80s-90s POP, etc. - OK so we're old!!  ;)).

I've read good and not-so-good reviews for DJ All Music but nothing really about Mega DJ.

For the ceremony, I have programmed the iPod using the Wedding DJ app and will use the resorts speakers.  I recommend checking out the app.  You may like it.

A lot of brides are very particular about using a certain DJ but I am not so picky.  If you decide you want someone other than the 2 choices on the Lomas website, make sure AS will accept them.  I've heard there are some local DJs that AS will not allow even if you pay the $800 outside vendor fee.

Hi AS brides,

I'm leaving in 3 weeks to get married on the resort.  If there's anything you want me to take a picture of or scope out while I'm there please PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Is there a pool with a swim-up bar that ALL ages can go to?

Hi Lolita - we had DJ All Music for our EDR wedding in 2012. We were very happy with them! They stuck to our list, the MC did his cues exactly when we wanted them, and we really had no issues at all. We were glad to have booked the DJ, as we were originally planning to go the iPod/speaker route as well. It made for a fun party!

Lomas had videos of their DJs on their website if you want to check them out. http://www.weddingsbylomastravel.com/gallery/video/Dj-Music

You would need to ask your Lomas WC if they will allow an outside DJ. They seem to have limited the types of outside vendors allowed.

Hello Ladies,

My fiancé and I were planning to use the IPOD/speaker set-up, but a recent reviewer said the sound quality was poor and interrupted by cell phones.  The Lomas site has the option of DJ All Music and Mega DJ. Anyone have experience with either?  Does AS allow outside DJs? If so, can you recommend one and what their rates are?

Thanks,

Lola

AllieH,

We have DJ All Music booked as well! Did they bring any props with them? I think that would make it soo much fun!! I wasn't sure if I had to request this or not though.

Looks like a great time!! Thanks for sharing :)

I was also wondering, and this question is for all past/ future brides... As I'm in the process of doing the table assignments for the reception, I know that the resort sets up round tables of 8... Did anyone have tables of 9? And if so, was there enough room at the table? Two of our tables have 8 guests each so that worked out perfectly, but the other two tables have 9 guests each.

Yes! It would be wonderful if you can get pictures of the new gazebo in Plaza Zavaz - assuming they have one up...

Good luck with your wedding and keep us posted on how it goes. If you're doing OOT Bags, I'd love to know how that goes as well. I'm nervous about them getting to the right people at the right times...

YES!!!! This happened to us too! She actually went behind my back and sent a text to my fiance asking him if someone from their group of friends could come. She was even really pushy in wanting a response right away so she could book her ticket for her friend right then and there. I was a little offended by this as I'd like to keep it a small wedding for our family and friends - and they were already coming as a group so it's not like they wouldn't know anyone. We're still on the fence about it as we did allow other quests to bring dates, however, they didn't know anyone else we were inviting so we felt it was fair since they were traveling that far.

Let me know what you end up doing. Ovbiously, we can't restrict them from coming to the resort but considering the extra fee for all the private events we're hosting, it would end up costing $75-150 for her to attend the wedding and events (Rehearsal BBQ, Wedding and Farewell Brunch).

Good luck!

Hi!

Did anyone have an invited guest decide to give themselves a plus one??

One of my fiances friends has RSVP'd yes and added '+ a guest'... His invite did not say and guest, and judging by his reply he hasnt even identified who he is bringing!!  I am torn between thinking that it is always more fun to travel with someone, but this is our wedding.. and if he is just bringing some random along (or even a buddy????), then am I right in thinking I don't really want them at my wedding??  They can laze by the pool all they want, but....!!

I know this is not specifically about Azul but you ladies have been so helpful with everything else, I'd love your thoughts!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
