Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I knowwwwww!!! I was sooooo surprised that so many people committed with deposits soooo quickly. What a blessing. I was surprised that they didn't offer more perks for a party so big. They did offer to allow me to have up to three events per day like a lunch, cocktail hour and dinner but that's only for 40 ppl which doesn't help me. Lol I guess I can't complain. Lol. That's why I'm starting now so I'm not overly stressed later. I AM stressed about this dress picking tho. I am fixated on the Mori Lee 5104 but I'm soooooo bad with decisions. :(

Does any brides, past or planning, know if you can swim at the pool next to Plaza Zavaz during your night reception?? Didn't want my reception super formal plus my family and friends are PARTY ANIMALS (even the old people). I was going to put a note in the welcome bags to bring their swim wear to the reception so after dinner we can dance and party in the pool!!!

Technically, the pools close at 6 pm. (This allows staff to clean, test, add chemicals to the pool) As well, the pools are not heated, so it might be a bit chilly at night. That's not to say that you can't jump in....I don't think I have ever heard of staff kicking people out...but I would not add the clause "to bring swimwear to the reception". As for picking a dress, if you have a hard time deciding, this is what I did: first try on one of each of the more common styles- ball gown, mermaid, fitted, a-line,etc. Then pick which style flatters your body best. Bring one person you trust, and will tell you the truth. Then try a few different models in the style you like. If you like one, write down the model style and go home and sleep on it. If you keep thinking about that dress, it's likely the one meant for you! Keep in mind you want to be comfortable since you'll be wearing it all day and dancing all night! Good luck!

Hey Ladies,

I just got back from my wedding and had an AMAZING time!!!! The staff was so friendly and accommodating.

Although I brought tons of décor, the staff still threw in some additional décor for free (ie. a crystal curtain for the skydeck ceremony, corsage).

We had our reception at Plaza Zavas. I was initially concerned when the gazebo was torn down but they were renovating it while I was there and have already put up new poles and a beam all around the top to hold it in place The roof should be installed within the next few days. I was even able to have my string lights wrapped around the poles and the lanterns were hung beautifully! I will post pics as soon as I receive them but trust me when I say, it was absolutely beautiful!

I can't say enough good things about the resort and the staff. They even helped us make some group reservations (something they don't usually do) and I'm really thankful for that. Also, on our last night some of my bridesmaids contacted our wedding coordinator to decorate our room. My hubby and I were offsite doing an underwater TTD. When we came back to our room, our string lights were wrapped around our bed and many of our decorations were re-used to create a romantic atmosphere in our room and balcony. It was something out of a fantasy!!

I'm currently experiencing wedding withdrawal and I can't believe it's all over butI just thought I would post to let all you future brides of Azul Sensatori know that you are in GOOD hands and you made an excellent choice!

Everything about the week was perfect. I will post a real review along with some pics shortly.

Also, one thing I should mention - there were many things I wanted for my wedding that my local wedding planner told me I would have to pay extra for (ie. the crystal curtain, a basket for some pashminas, a candlelit dinner on the beach, etc). But once I got to the resort, the onsite coordinators got us most of that stuff for free. Keep that in mind when you're planning your wedding - sometimes it's best to deal with the onsite coordinators first hand and cut out the middleman when possible.

Congratulations! Sounds like you had a great time! Can't wait to see the pictures. :D We're having our reception at Plaza Zavas so I'll be excited to see your decorations.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
