Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if any of you had over the 40 guest count and roughly how much more it ended up costing you. I was going through our guest list and its crazy almost 50-69 guests...
We had 63 guests. We did a private event, with the "pick and choose menu". We also hosted a cocktail hour, and we paid an extra fee for the extra guests (so 23 extra), but I figured our costs were still much less than hosting a similar party at home. In terms of your cost...that's really hard to say, since there are so many different options. It really depends on what you want your wedding to be. As well, it will depend on how many confirmed guests you get.

I wish I found this site earlier!  We will be getting married on Nov 11, 2013 at Azul Sensatori.  Looking at the weather forecast, I am nervous about rain....  Does anyone have any tips for how to handle this (or comments on good back-up locations and decorations?).  I have never been to the resort before, but I have a map to refer to.

If anyone on this forum will be getting married after us, we will have a bunch of lanterns and LED lights I could leave behind for you!

For any of the ladies out there planning on their reception being held at Plaza Zavaz....  apparently it was torn down today.  It had become unstable due to the recent storms.  My dad got to the resort early, so he has been delivering this information.  I'm guessing they will rebuild it at some point, but not before our wedding on Nov 11...

Were you planning to have your reception there? Have they told you about alternative sites?

Yeah, this was the original location planned for our reception.  It may turn out not to matter anyway because the forecast is calling for rain.  The only site we have heard mention of as an alternative is a ballroom, but we hope to figure out some other options.  We leave in under 2 days and then will have a day and a half there, so things could change!  I just wanted to let anyone know that is getting married here in the next month or so (???) that you may want to look at a back-up plan.

Thank you for posting this update yycStacy.  I'm still undecided on where to host the reception, but I'm sure when/if the rebuild the gazebo it'll be beautiful as well.  Hope someone is there once it's rebuilt to show us a picture as well :D

I will be there for 2 weeks starting Sat, so I will let you know! I'm sure it'll be rebuilt at some point. Despite the weather, all of the guests who are there a week early have really enjoyed the resort so far!

I can't wait to see your review.  We did a bridal walk through back in April and loved the resort.  We're hoping to have everything on the beach, so maybe you could tell us how the weather is there at night please?  In April we caught some bad weather and it was very windy and cool at night.

Oh dear! Well, don't despair. It always amazes me how quickly they can rebuild things down there. Have they confirmed you cannot have your wedding there now??? If the weather does work out for you, the other spot I would suggest would be the Yoga Palapa on the beach. They would usually set up a dance area on the yoga palapa and the tables/chairs on the beach in front of it. Beautiful spot as well. Keep us posted! And I would talk to the wedding coordinators as soon as you get there to find out what the plan is!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
