Thanks Jenny. Me too. I really went into this thinking even if things went wrong it would be no big deal. I really hated to even post the review but I felt people really needed to know what expect in the event of rain. I believe that is where they really fell short.

I know this was not the norm for them but it doesn't change the fact that it can happen.

May you have a blessed planning and wedding experience.

My next question is the credit that we are suppose to receive for our Anniversary Trip, can it be used at another Karisma Resort? I am not sure we want to return to Azul Sensatori in Riviera Maya. Not because the resort or itâ€s staff are not great, they are. The wedding department and my wedding has spoiled my opinion of them and I can never get that day back.

Oh my gosh. This is so depressing. I am so sorry that your day wasn't perfect. We were there doing a site inspection the weeekend after your wedding and had the very same thought that they better update their alternative locations. We have chosen the same locations (your orginal ones) for our wedding next April. i really hope it goes smoothly after reading this. Personally, I think you should demand a refund for at least par of your expenses dince it was executed so poorly.

Lil Pumpkin,

My heart aches for you! I'm so sorry that things didn't go as perfect as they should have been. It's a shame that they were so unorganized due to rain :( I appreciate you sharing your review because it makes me really start to think about a back up plan if the weather takes a turn. I would absolutely talk to your TA about all of this.

Not to mention, you need to demand some sort of refund from them, and it's sad that you have to even ask for it after all you've been through.

I do love your photo at the Cenote though, it is beautiful!

Thanks Ladies,

I felt it was important to share my experience for those who are like me and didn't/wouldn't pay as much attention to the detail of the back up plan. When we returned on 9/21st we started getting emails every few days requesting our review/survey. Once I processed all my thoughts and feelings of the entire experience I submitted my review to EVERYONE. My TA, my off site coordinator, all the onsite coordinators, and a few managers. It's funny once I submitted my review (2days ago) I have heard nothing, except from my TA. My TA is very upset and was actually on her way to Azul Sensatori the next day for a seminar/meeting with the upper management of Karisma for promotions. She printed my review and took it with her. However, no one from the wedding department has contacted me.

I will be fighting for some kind of refund and I have been told that I can use my Anniversary credit at any Karisma Resort. Here are a few pictures of the alter that one of my friends took...

Jackie,

I will ask my photographer. I know we attempted to visit 3 different once's that day but things can be pretty corrupt in Mexico. So when we arrived they charged us a price then when they saw me in my wedding dress they tried to charge and additional $100.00 US. Finally at this one we paid a total of $80.00 ($10.00 per person). This Cenote was so perfect.

I will find out the name.

I LOVE it! What Cenote was this in?

It was the Chac Mool Cenote. The location has 3 Cenote's. We were in the largest of the 3.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
