Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Hi Ladies,

I am getting married August 31, 2013 and I am trying to purchase my decorations. For the chair sashes, are they supposed to be organza or satin? I am bringing alot of decorations myself and I will just pay the 250 dollar set up fee. I know when you go thru customs you are supposed to show receipts but most of the stuff I am ordering online, will this be a problem? Do I need to print the email confirmations?

Also what type of fabric do I need for the Gazebo on the sky deck and what size fabric do I get? And Finally what length christmas lights do I get for the poles at Zavaz Plaza for the reception. Oh and one more thing...I ordered the Chinese hanging lanterns. If I have Christmas lights on the 6 poles do I still need the lights inside of the hanging lanterns?  I know I am asking alot of questions. I am so last minute and trying ti know everything out this month. Thank you guys for any help that you can provide

Hi there!

On the sashes, you can use organza or satin. I had organza, and honestly I felt like they weren't substantial enough. Even with a bright orange color, they didn't pop as much as I wanted them to. I wish I had used satin... here's a photo of our set up (at EDR). I think it still looked beautiful, so I have no complaints!

With the receipts - you need those for gifts, not personal belongings. So if all of your decorations are your personal items (and you aren't giving them away), you are good. You'll want the receipts for any OOT bag items, and/or favors. The max on that is $300 per person, or $600 per married couple.

Hope that helps for those two items at least!

I have added you to the official Bridal roll call, and it looks like you are our first August bride! Okay- let's try to answer everything:

- Chair sashes- can be any fabric, just depends on the look you want. Like Allie mentioned the organza are much more see through, compared to satin.

- Technically you will not need receipts for your decor, but I would bring the email receipts just in case. Customs just want to make sure you are not bringing things into the country to sell. And that being said, you will likely only have to show things to customs if you get the red light! Simply state it is decor for your wedding.

- Fabric choice for the gazebo is personal. But the dimensions are all listed on the Official thread (as well lots of helpful tips about customs/airport/etc) :

- Dimensions for the Zavas gazebo are on the official thread, but I am not sure what length you would need for lights. Hopefully the photo will help. I think if you are hanging lights that will be plenty, so I don't think you have to worry about lights for inside the lanterns.

Good luck!

Hello ladies, it has been quite a while since we've seen the updated list of who is getting married when.  We are on July 14, 2013.  ANyone else around that time?

Also wondering...do we have to feed the photographer?

Hi Everyone! I'm getting married at Azul Sensatori on November 16, 2013. I'm nervous and excited! Any advice?
My advice is to read as many of the posts on this thread and the Official Azul Sensatori thread as you can. There is so much good information, you can plan everything and ease your nerves. :-). Also, look at the options and prices on the Lomas Travel website. They provide the outside vendors, decorations and flowers. Then, you can decide what you want to buy versus DIY or other options. Happy Planning! I have had a lot of fun with all of this! Jenny

How much time do most people need for photos? I am trying to decide on one of the photo packages. One hour doesn't seem enough but 4 hours is very expensive. Opinions, please.

We only had the hour provided in the package. I really wish we could have afforded another hour. However, our guests took so many digital pictures that it helped to fill I the gaps. But if you have the money to spend I would suggest an additional hour.

Thanks. I will make sure we have at least 2 hours for the photos. Carib Photo seems to be the cheapest option. Did you use them?

If photography is a very important part for you (it was for me) I suggest even more than that. We booked a photographer for 7 hours and I think that will allow him time to capture the entire day in addition to formal pics. Some people are not nearly as interested in pictures, though. So it's your call :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
