Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

We are February 20!!  We spent a couple days straight (felt like it anyway) going from blog to blog and emailing various vendors, we stumbled across Sarani Photography, and I think this will be our choice pending approval from the Sensatori! The Reviews on this site seem warm and postive, plus getting the wedding video was an added perk that we didn't think we could afford.

I fell in LOVE with Elizabeth Medina, but looking over our budget, I am starting to fear that she just exceeds what our budget can allow. I'm having a hard time deciding about bringing a photographer with me from Calgary, Canada - or hiring someone in Mexico. What are other brides doing in terms of photography?

I interviewed Elizabeth, too. I love her and her work. Unfortunately, her prices were over my budget. I am using Chris Schmitt

Azul Sensorati sounds like a fabulous resort, but I'm having trouble getting my mind wrapped around all of the crazy vendor restrictions! One of the things that I was interested in was having fire dancers and possibly a guitarist at my wedding.  Are those options available (and other interesting entertainment)?  Can anyone comment on the quality of the Azul-approved vendors?  I would be bringing in a photographer from the U.S., most likely, or trying to schedule someone like Elizabeth Medina.

You can check the Lomas Travel website for live entertainment options. I'm thinking about a jazz guitarist. I am also thinking about making a playlist on an iPod, renting equipment from AS and not having a DJ. I need to find someone locally who program the iPod with the songs we want. Has anyone else done that?

Hi, and welcome to the forum. It is unfortune about the vendor fees, but with enough research I am sure you will find everything to make a perfect dream come true. Take a look at the official thread- http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/84306/official-azul-sensatori-thread/30#post_1907178 , you will hopefully find more details or links to help you plan. In the meantime, if anyone has any questions regarding the El Dorado Seaside (sister resort), I am down here right now enjoying the sun!

Hi Ashley, I did not source the banners through the hotel. I used an Etsy vendor and got one batch of customized -- our names and wedding date -- and one batch of "generic" wedding theme. She offers both options in white.

Here is her store: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Vintagebabydoll

I did ask the resort if they had a vendor for papel picado but it is very seasonal in that region and they could not provide.

We did an iPod playlist with no DJ -- and no rental equipment!

If you have an iPod Touch or iPhone, look into WeddingDJ ($1.99). This is what we used for all of our music. I labored for hours over the playlists - ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception but it really turned out perfectly. We bought a travel Bose for $300 and took it with us rather than spending $300 to rent their sound system.

The resort will provide a sound system for music for your ceremony. They were able to plug our iPhone into the system and run the app for us. Then they took our dock to the cocktail hour space, hooked up the phone and started our next playlist. Same for moving from cocktail to reception venue. I had the remote in my pocket but only had to adjust volume once and pause for speeches.

We had a small group (20) so the Bose without extra speakers was plenty loud enough for the reception. Just another option!

I have never stayed at Azul Sensatori but we just got back last week from 7 nights at the resort next door, Secrets Silversands. This was our third visit in 3 years. The only time I had any trouble was last year on the day after I had 7 tequila shots at the bar. I was a little queasy the next day but felt better after coffee and eggs for breakfast. This year, I limited the tequila shots and had no problems. From everything I have heard the high end resorts work hard on food safety and clean water. Most people have few to no problems with stomach ailments.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
