Don't sweat the details!  They have it down!  This place is amazing and all of my 57 guests had the time of their lives!

I brought down A Lot of stuff and my set up fee was a bit more than I expected. $250 for everything.  I was planning on $150 like I heard so many times on this forum... guess I overdid it a little.  We had the sky wedding which was beautiful but very windy.  I would recommend it if it fits in your budget, but the zocalo beach gazebo was beautiful too.

I'm from California and apparently we tip a lot.  I had a hard time not tipping and it really added up for us.  I'm sure I overdid it but I figure they deserve it.  You definitely get better drinks when you take care of the bartenders.

I'm going to be selling some stuff after I return, so be on the lookout if you see something you like in my pics.

My reception was at Plaza Zavas and i recommend it.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.  I gained so much from this forum and wouldn't have had the wedding I had if not for it.  Now I want to share my experiences to help future brides.

Hi!! Your pictures are beautiful you look amazing!!! I have a question for you.... I see you have your hair down and I am wondering how that was for you, was it very windy? I am trying to decide between half up and half down or up completely and having a hard time. Thanks!

If anyone is interested in my sky deck set up with the fabric, rhinestone cuffs and chair sashes let me know.  send me a PM.  I'm going to sell them but it makes sense to sell on this thread since the fabric fits the sky deck gazebo.  The chair sashes match the fabric and I think I have 59 of them. (one guest decided to take one and use as a scarf)  I also have the beaded curtain that hangs behind.

Wow ok I'm glad you guys told me that!! I am using dj doremixx but not sure if its an employee or the company owner that is going to be dj'ing .... Does anyone that used doremixx have any info on this?
I'm using Doremixx and I asked Ivan (the owner) if he would be the one actually DJing my wedding and he said yes and that he would also bring an assistant to help set up. Hope that helps!

My fiance and I are trying to plan some things to do while we are there with our guests.  We are wondering what kind of entertainment goes on at the resort itself at night??  How is the bar/club scene, if any??  we don't want our guests to have to travel to cancun/playa del carmen if there is plenty to do at the resort itself at night:) thanks so much.

For all of u brides who have been to AS, do u have to make reservations at the restaurants and is it unlimited? Meaning can u go to the restaurants multiple time a day. My friend told me that she thought we are just served breakfast, lunch and dinner? Can we eat breakfast at one restaurant and go to another one to eat breakfast again? How about room service? Is that free? How much is wifi? Is there a group rate or a discount for large groups?

The bar scene at AS is very nice, but if you're looking for a real club feel, you'll likely have to go to Cancun. The entertainment starts around 6pm, with live music at the adult pool bar(usually a guitar player or saxophone). Then the nightly show starts about 9pm. This can be dancers, circus type show, magician, comedy, etc. it is always family friendly and usually about an hour long. After that the Moijioto bar has a live band playing music til 1230-1am. It is always great music and they usually take requests. The teen bar, after about 11pm becomes the club. But usually it's pretty quiet, unless you bring a group with you. The DJ will take requests here as well.

You do not require reservations at any restaurant, with the exception of Le Chique. And it is unlimited, you can eat multiple times, wherever you would like. At dinner time, if there are no available tables, they take your name and give you a buzzer. So you head to a bar for a drink, and when a table is free they buzz you. Room service is included in your package, and the menu is on a channel on your TV. We found it usually took about 35minutes for delivery. Wifi is included if your staying in the premium side. If not, I think it was about $5/day...but I'm not sure. And I don't think they offer a group discount on that.

Don't worry about people saying things like that!! This is YOUR wedding and you deserve to do it just the way u want to!! I totally understand though , some of my fiance's friends were texting him about how expensive it was going to be which honest is just pretty rude to complain to the bride or groom. We knew when we did destination that not everyone was going to be able to make it because of financial reasons and we were ok with that because this is what we really wanted for our wedding. If people can't make it because of money reasons then they should just decline politely and not complain about it , that's just not cool. And flights totally are expensive right now which is super annoying!!!! Vent anytime that's what we are here for ;-)
I have not had too many complaints directed to me. I gave people plenty of notice and said it is less than $100/month per person, if they start saving now. You should go ahead and have the wedding you want. For the people who can't attend, they can see the pictures.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
