Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

I'm having an issues that is really stressing me out.  I was speaking with my TA and she said to let any family members and friends know that they should book soon b/c it looks like the hotel will book out.  Did anyone have this happen to them?  My wedding isn't til November and I know many of my guests are dragging their feet and haven't booked yet.  I haven't even gotten my invites out yet... Did this happen to any previous brides or anyone dealing with this now?  I'm worried that when my guest actually go to book there wont be rooms available... I was thinking to email everyone just a reminder to book or something but thats what my invites were supposed to be... Just stressing!!!

Any input would be much appreciated...

Thanks.

Hey Jess, did you already book a block of rooms? My wedding is at El Dorado and I had to grab a few extra rooms but much closer to the wedding date because I was afraid of a sold out situation. I would think this far out you shouldn't have to worry.  If you are concerned most guests will understand and book.  However, those on the fence probably won't do it till the end.

No we didn't go that route, I was afraid of getting stuck with rooms at the end. I guess I'll send out an email just reminding everyone to book and hope for the best.

Im getting married April 9, 2014 and I want to get a head start on planning things.

Wondering if any of you picked the lobster and steak dinner for your guests?

What dinner menus are the best?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! welcome.gif

There are so many options to choose from, and they are all amazing! It really depends on what you and your guests like. Be aware the lobster is caribbean lobster (so a bit chewier and smaller) than lobster from Maine/Nova Scotia.

Check our our official thread for details, planning ideas and info! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/84306/official-azul-sensatori-thread

And if you are not booked yet, consider using a GI certified travel agent. They deal directly with Karisma and often have bonuses to offer and upgrades. I can recommend Wright Travel http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/80338/karisma-hotels-givc-and-gi-wedding-consultants-wright-travel-agency They even have a $399 deal right now, for brides to go check out the resort before they book!

Good luck and happy planning!

Jess, this can be such had hard issue to deal with. I would perhaps send a gentle reminder to those guests you really think will be coming. As for the people who always drag their feet, there is nothing you can do! We personally had booked a block of rooms, and then ended up losing some money since people didn't end up booking. So personally I would hesitate to book extra rooms, and possibly be left with a bill at the end. The other thing you should be aware of, is that the hotel is selling blocks of rooms to different tour operators. So your TA may not be able to get a room directly, but often you can find rooms later through different tour opeators. (I know we had guests book less than 2 weeks before and found their rooms this way).

Hi again Gina,

I used this article to help out with the tipping issue - http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/226661/tipping-wedding-vendors.  I always defer to Martha, haha!

Our photographer is a close friend of ours and will be attending the wedding anyways. She is staying at the hotel for 3 nights, and they did not have a problem with that. I'm pretty sure if you do not use one of the resorts "approved" photographers, then you will pay an outside vendor fee.

Hey Everyone,

Are there ever free upgrade options if we book with a group of 30 or more people? When we went to a destination wedding back in 2008 @ DR, every guest got a free upgrade to a premium suite.

We are planning on having the wedding in 06/2014, so we do have the luxury to wait for sweet deals.

Thanks!

Hey we are getting married on November 16, 2013.  We did hold 30 rooms with our reservation and was told at certain dates we will have the options of releasing some of those rooms back if we think they wont book up.  We have only had about 4 rooms that have been booked so far.  Seems like the same thing for us, people are saying they are coming, but just haven't booked yet:(  When are you thinking you are gonna send out your invites??  Did you send out save-the-dates??  Thanks:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
