Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies, We are leaving tomorrow and getting married on Thursday.  Without the help of this forum I would not be nearly as organized and calm as I am right now.  We are watching tv and drinking wine! I can't wait to get to the resort tomorrow.  I will be sure to let you all know how it goes and give any advice that I think may be helpful.
Safe travels, and best wishes on your upcoming wedding! Look forward to seeing the photos on your return.

Hi! So I bought these little lights at michaels called celebration lights, they look like little bullets and come in a pack of 12 for $9.99. We are going to use 2 in each lantern and they have little holes in the top so you can just tie some fishing line and hang them from the metal part of the lantern- super easy and inexpensive!! The rest of the fishing line I will give to them to hang the lanterns with. I was going to do the LED throwies but this seemed easier lol.   I believe we bought lanterns varying in size from 8, 12 , and 16. As for the tables they are 5 ft across and round so you will need to buy 120" tablecloths. As for runners we are trying to get ones that are either 90 or 108 inches long and about 12 inches wide. Not sure about the tables for the guestbook or cake thats actually a really good question!! I will ask my coordinator and if you find out let me know thanks!!
Thank you thank you thank you for the table info as well as the LED lights! I have done so much DIY and I love it but those home made "throwie" things were stressing me out... I was about to just have unlit lanterns.. Lol. Thank you! Oh and I emailed my WC about the tables so I will let you know what I hear about the cake table, etc.

Hi Everyone!

My FI and I have been doing a lot of research on Azul Sensatori.  It is definitely our top choice as of today. I have a few questions that I've been having a hard time finding the answer to.  Would love to hear what other brides have to say!  Our wedding will be in April/May of 2014 and we're estimating around 40-60 guests.

1. How private is the beach ceremony and the Zavas reception?  From most of the pictures we've seen, it looks like they do a pretty good job keeping other resort guests away but it is hard to tell since these are professional photos from the right angles.  We want an intimate celebration without bare chested old men gawking at our event :)

2. We don't want the party to stop after the reception.  Did you all go out to the Mojito Bar afterwards?  How was it?

3. Did you use the preferred DJ?  DJ All Music I believe.  I looked at his website and it looks like it would be about $2000 to have him for the cocktail hour and reception.  Seems a little expensive but with the $800 vendor fee, I doubt we'd be able to bring an outside vendor in that would be any cheaper.  What was your experience with DJ All Music?  If you brought someone else in, how was it and (if you don't mind me asking) how much did it cost?

4. Did you use the preferred photographer?  Caribe.  What was your experience with them?  We aren't extremely impressed based off their website but maybe their work is better than what shows up on the site?  We really like Elizabeth Medina and Del Sol but are thinking they are way out of our price range (still waiting for a quote).  Does anyone have any other recommendations for local photographers?

5. How many weddings does the Sensatori have on the same day?  Did you notice the other wedding and did you feel like you received less than dedicated attention because of it?

Thank you VERY much!!

Hello and welcome to BDW!

Azul Sensatori is a great place to get married.  We are going there in June for our family trip.

Here are some threads that might be helpful to you:

Have you thought about doing a Bride's Dress Rehearsal.  It is a site visit where you can check out the different locations, try the food, meet vendors, etc?  Only $399 for couple for 3 nights (link above).

Del Sol and Elizabeth are amazing photographers and great people!  There are a bunch of great photogs here on BDW:  Photographer Reviews  Keep in mind, they do charge an outside vendor fee for vendors that are not on their list.

The way Azul Sensatori is designed, their wedding locations are pretty private so even if there is more than 1 wedding going on that day it should not take away from your wedding.

But, hopefully DJ All Music offered by Lomas Travel will be just as fun. Just wanted to share this information with any other 2014 brides who were looking into booking an outside vendor for a DJ.

Interesting...thanks for getting back to all of us.  I guess that eliminates 1 choice.  Do they have a similar policy for photographers now? That would also be a bummer.

You are so welcome!!! The little lights from Michaels come with batteries that need to be put in right before the wedding so we are just going to give them to the wedding coordinator and have them put them in when they set everything up- I spent so much time trying to figure out the throwies and they were stressing me out too!! haha I emailed my coordinator as well about the tables so we can keep each other updated :-)

Hi! So I have not had my wedding yet but thought I could help a a little anyways- We are having our reception at plaza zalvez and they told us it is completely private- no one is allowed in that area- the pools close at a certain time so Im not worried about people coming into our area-  From what I have read about past weddings, mojito bar seems to be the place to go after!! I also read that the teen nightclub opens up to everyone around 11 so people go there as well- as far as the dj goes we are using dj doremixx, he came VERY highly recommended by alot of brides- we are paying the $800 vendor fee and he is charging us $800 for 5 hours of music so its still less expensive than their dj- I think his price may have gone up for 2013 but only by like $100-$150.  And we are doing our cocktail hour right by our reception at plaza zalvez (by the pool with the gazebo) so he will do the music for the cocktail party and reception which is great!! We are flying in a friend for the photography but there is a forum on here just about photographers you should def look up.  Hope this helps :-)

Thank you VERY much!!

Welcome to the forum! welcome.gifI got married at the Sensatori in 2011- and we loved it! I will try to answer to the best of my ability.

1. The beach ceremony is quite private. The hotel has staff that will guide other guests around the wedding, so that it does not interfere. Keeping that in mind, the walkway above the beach always seems to gather a crowd, but they just want to watch the beautiful bride. Those guests really are far enough away that you don't notice them. As well, depending on the time of day, the beach especially later in the day seems to empty as folks go to rest, or get ready for dinner. Zavas plaza was very private for us. The pathways that lead to the plaza don't lead anywhere else, so folks don't randomly walk in. As well, most people are very respectful and realize it's a private event.

2. A lot of brides will move the party to the Mojioto bar. They offer live music, great drinks and it's always fun. The teen bar also technically turns into the disco. Usually really quiet since noones uses it, but if you have a good group you could dance the night away there as well.

3. I did not use a DJ at all. But most brides that I have heard from we're pleased.

4. We brought our own photographer. As well, you should know that the resort has to approve your vendors (ALL your vendors), even though you pay the $800 fee. I know that Del Sol is currently not approved to work there- sorry.

5. Last I heard the maximum is 2 weddings a day. And the resort is large enough, that you will never know. Just make sure to reserve the spots you want to use.

As well, if you do choose a Karisma resort, I would HIGHLY recommend using a GI certified travel agent. (these are TAs that deal with Karisma directly) And because of this special relationship, they often have bonuses or special offers compared to a regular TA. You can connect with Wright Travel, highly recommended, by clicking on the link in my signature below. As well, like Tammy mentioned, if you can get away for a few days, they have specials that you can visit the resort to check it out ahead of time to help you decide! (plus who doesn't want to get away to sunny Mexico for a few days?)

Good luck, and if you need anymore information, just ask!

Hi Gina, I loved my makeup the lady at the spa did for me!  I bought my own MAC makeup as a backup because I was nervous before my trial, but didn't end up using it because the spa uses MAC, and they have an incredible selection of everything!  Trust me, you have nothing to worry about :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
