Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi, did anyone incorporate sparklers for their ceremony and receptions?  I would like to do it but was warned by my WC that I may encounter some problems at customs.  She suggested that I purchase sparklers through the resort.  Has anyone brought sparklers down for their wedding? Any problems with customs?

For those of you who are doing OOT bags, how are you delivering them to your guests? My WC said they can deliver them to each guests room for $4 each but I can't see paying that.

We met all our guests as they arrived in the lobby and handed out our OOT bags. It added a personal touch, and told them how much we appreciated that they were joining us for our wedding.

Many brides met up with their guests for a dinner drink and do it there. Lots of options that will not cost you a fortune!

IT IS ILLEGAL TO TRAVEL WITH SPARKLERS /FIREWORKS, ETC. They are considered explosive!!!! DO NOT PACK THEM IN YOUR LUGGAGE!!!!

You could try buying them in town perhaps. I don't know where you would find them, but it might be worth a look. But please, PLEASE do not travel with them!!!

Unfortunately, you are NOT allowed to use Sky lanterns. This is due to the fire insurance policy of the Sensatori. There is concern that the lanterns could float and land onto one of the buildings- and many are reed roofs, so very flammable. (and the wind blows off the ocean 90% of the time)

I bought one thinking that we might walk down the beach a bit and do it anyways...the wind coming off the ocean is WAY too strong...I understand now why they don't allow it :(  Guess we'll save it for our anniversary or something fun like that :)

Hi bubblez, I was quoted two prices for sparklers through my WC:

- 3 ft long sparkler= $8 each

- Box of 5 small sparklers is $5/box

Well I thought $8 a sparkler was insanity and the box of 5 was a steal! Hopefully you can learn from my mistake- I bought 8 boxes of the small sparklers hoping to take pictures of our guests forming an archway to walk through as well as several long exposure shots; however, the "small" sparklers are so small they last maybe 10 seconds, so I couldn't get the photos I had hoped for. Thankfully I only lost $40 on this endeavour.

No special arrangements need to be made! Sunwing is used to DW brides bringing their dresses onto the plane- they reserve overhead bins for wedding dresses. Just be aware that your dress may need to share the space with another bride's dress.

Hi Ladies!

We are in the process of choosing between EDR and Azul Sensataori (deciding if we want to do adults only or family friendly). We did the Bride Rehearsal Weekend last week which was amazing and I highly recommend if you are in the process of choosing.

I do have a question. Is anyone doing the "free unlimited private events" special. We would have enough rooms for that. It is my understanding that if are having a free private event cocktail party or sit down dinner you can not choose the location or the menu until you arrive at the resort. Do you have any say in the choice of location once you get there? For instance if we want the free cocktails as welcome cocktails on the beach can we ask for that? Is the menu one of the "set menus" listed in the private event banquet kit. Also we will have a free cocktail hour because of our travel agent. What would the menu be for that.

Thanks so much. We are deciding between November and March and the free promotion is only available in November. In March there is a 20% off promotion. If we don't like the free option then having the 20% off is better.

Also for the dinner reservation that is included in the packages (free, pearl, sweet, etc) I understand that that is semi private. Is there a set menu for that or just whatever menu the restaurant has?

Not sure if any of that makes sense but any help would be appreciated!

Amanda

Unfortuantely I am not sure of the details for the "free unlimited private events" special. Perhaps ask a TA for details in that regard. If you don't have a TA, you could contact an agent at Wright Travel- the link is below in my signature.

As for the dinner reservation in the packages, the semi-private event is held in Spoon restaurant. There is an area that they section off with a curtain to provide some privacy. You will have waiters that are assigned to just your wedding, and it is a set menu (different than the buffet in the restaurant). Unfortunately, you do not have choice in the set menu, and will see what it is when you met your WC onsite. (also depending on the size of your group be aware the dinner is for 40 people. Any guests above that you will have to pay an additional fee)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
