Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey Dayna, We are getting married at 2 p.m.  Did you get the 4 p.m. slot?  Where are you having your reception?  [/quote We did take the 4 pm, on the beach. Are you doing the beach as well or the sky deck? We haven't made any final decisions on the reception yet but we are thinking more of a beach BBQ or cocktail party on the beach. DH really doesn't want to have a formal sit down dinner. Where are you guys having yours?

My sisters, mother and I all had our hair and make up done at the spa...it turned out fantastic!  We were very specific in what we wanted and had them change a few things as we were going along on our hair, but they were very accommodating and not "irritated" at all by us wanting them to change some things as they went along.  I had taken a picture of what I wanted for my hair and make up and they replicated it well.  My sisters looked through all of their pictures (they have a ton) and just picked something out from there.  It took a bit longer than my WC said it would and put us a little bit behind for the day (about 30 minutes)...but they did a fabulous job!  I would recommend the spa to anyone!!  I did not have a trial of my hair or make up and it turned out GREAT!  Also....included in my package my FI and I got 15% off of spa services...the fine print says for ONLY the bride and groom...but since I paid for everyone's hair and make up they put it on one check and we got 15% off EVERYONE's hair and make up!  So that was really nice as well.
I will be using the spa in May. With my package I get trail hair and makeup the day before, so I figure that should iron out any kinks.
i have heard nothing but great things about the onsite spa. I will let you know how mine goes in June!
Thanks ladies!! You have put my mind at ease :)

MK0386 - I love your ideas for centerpieces and the afloral website has a great selection. I may look into something like this also. I did hear that the Walmart in Cancun is double the price as opposed to the states. I have centerpieces through Lomas right now which are very pretty but so expensive - $90 each! Not sure what I want to do... Where did you buy your lanterns and lights from? I've been looking at beau-coup.com for lanterns as well as a lot of other cute decorating ideas/ wedding favors!

Wow... $90 each. Unreal. Lomas is such a rip off. The Walmart being more expensive is news to me. Thanks for that info! I will definitely look into my other options but I'm thinking ill probably just get them there even if they are a little more expensive bc I can't imagine trying to carry on glass vases (I read about another bride that did this) bc I have a 1 1/2 year old. He will be one month shy of 2 years old when we get married and I'm definelty not trying to bring fragile carry on luggage with him! Lol I will have to check out beau-coup.com! I actually haven't purchased the lanterns yet. There is another girl on the forum getting married a couple days before me and we might share! :) I'm not sure where she got hers.

I think Lomas is overpriced on a lot of things, but their full table setups were very reasonable compared to a la carte pricing. Since we're having a small wedding it was more cost effective for us to purchase table packages through Lomas than to go to the trouble of finding items on our own, packing them for travel, worrying that it will make it to the resort and then paying a setup fee (which will be on the high end). Something to consider.

What kind of set up did you choose? The only options I saw all started at 285/table. That seems pretty steep to me. If you don't mind me asking- what kind of set up did you choose and how much was it? My package (maybe all packages- not sure) comes with a white table set up so I figure if I just add a table runner, a centerpiece, chair sashes and maybe colored napkins it will be spruced up enough and for way less than $285/table.

We did the fiesta table that was $285, but only needed to purchase three tables. The resort will charge you max amount if you have a lot of table decor to setup, as it's the most time consuming. That's $200-300 right there. With the tables we're getting a bit of additional lighting (uplighting under tables) as well as favors in that price. Sure we could've done it for cheaper, but I'm already going to be fretting over our OOT bag items making it on and off the plane, so why add to the stress? Also need to consider your price limits for bringing items into the country and baggage fees. We'll be close to the limit that with our OOT bag items.

You're definitely right about price limits, etc but I think we'll be ok. I priced out my OOT bags and they don't really add up to much. My WC quoted me a $250 max set up fee so for us that's more affordable bc it's less than one table and I already have 5 tables and we still have more ppl that might come. I'm excited to see your tables, though! I bet they will be beautiful! Did they let you seat 10 at each table for that price or only 8?

Hey girl!

Same here, I feel like I'm doing so much, but then there's still so much to do! I'm making headway with all of the DIY projects but the most tedious task is getting all of our guests to book their rooms by March 1st deadline! I hear this is the most common issue with DW, so I'm trying not to stress but I am sending reminders all the time now =) I'd love to see how the chapstik labels came out!!  I finished all the painting this weekend, it didn't take long at all! Thankfully =)

Last night I finished putting our personalized DIY chapstick labels on. They look awesome. Hope your weekend projects went well... looking forward to seeing your planning thread!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
