Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Thank you AllieH for taking the time to give me so much information! I've been trying to do my research on my own but it's difficult to go through all the post. I will look at the Lomas website. Thanks again. I really appreciate all the help that everyone on here gives. I can't wait to get through the tough part--choosing the location--- and start sharing the DIYs that I'm thinking I will do.

MK0386,

I completely understand. It's very important for me to do a catholic mass so I am looking at places that have a chapel. Azul is one of my top choices along with the Palladium Colonial. I am also thinking about looking into off site church. There is so so many options though...

I'm a big proponent of travel insurance, especially when it's an expensive trip (like your wedding/honeymoon!). You just never know what could happen. The additional cost is worth the peace of mind "just in case".

We had several guests who had to use theirs for our wedding.

One of my friend's husband ended up in the hospital 3 days before they were supposed to go to Mexico, and of course they couldn't make it. They got a full refund with the trip insurance.

Three of my husband's friends live in NYC, and got stuck because of Hurricane Sandy (who expected a hurricane in NYC in November?!?!). They also got refunds because they had trip insurance. Without it, they all would have been out of luck.

So even if it's not the weather at your destination, it could be anything else. Do compare the different travel insurance benefits - you'd want one that will let you cancel for "any reason" vs. limits on weather, or illness alone.

HTH!

Yeah, I just heard back from my DJ and he is bringing an assistant so I will just pay the vendor fee. I'm also just going to keep it simple and pay vendor fee for photographer as well.

It's really not that much more money than a 3 night room and this way I don't have to worry about them coming to the hotel to check in at the right time on the right day, etc. (bc check in is kind of late and I don't want to worry about one more thing).

I think for me, it's easier to just to the vendor fee.

We are bringing our own. The decor through Lomas is so expensive. It's kind of ridiculous. Plus, I am having fun coming up with it all on my own. Also, I am a planner, so I like to know and see what I have planned. I couldn't just wait til I got there and hope it was what I had envisioned.

Has anyone chosen the Deluxe BBQ for a buffet meal? I would love any reviews on this menu if anyone has any?

Thanks

We are doing the BBQ Deluxe and I have heard it is absolutely delicious! Honestly, I have heard that all the food is great! I'm excited to find out for myself bc the last time I went to an all inclusive resort (RIU Ochos Rios) I wasn't that impressed. Now, I was there for Spring Break lol so I wasn't really too concerned about food. For my wedding, though... I care a bit more.

We are also having this menu, with a few modifications. Will let you know how it is in May!

I ditto what AllieH said. Not for a wedding but a 10 years back while in Riviera Maya my uncle injured his arm on a excursion (his fault not the tour LOL) and ended up in the Cancun hospital the trip insurance more that took care of everything. On another trip to the Bahamas we got contacted while there about a death in the family and had to return home. Trip insurance took care of all extra charges. And for a third example about 6-7 yrs ago we had a trip planned to Riviera Maya and that area was hit with a hurricane 3 days prior to going trip insurance gave us a full refund.I always recommend it especially for any trip out of the country or booked so far in advance. You just never know what can happen. I haven't had to use it in about 7yrs (knock on wood) but with those experiences I would never travel with out it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
