Same here... I emailed Erika(WC) to see what she says but Im thinking she's going to say they both have to booked which then means the vendor fee is cheaper.  Let me know what your dj says regarding bringing an asst or something b/c I havent officially booked a dj yet.

Ok girls.... I'm sorry I just have to vent for a moment.... Up until today I was under the impression everyone was on board with our DW. Well, my FI family (mainly his mothers side of the family) are canceling left and right and his mother is really taking it personally bc the people canceling are her siblings (my FI's aunts/uncles). So she says to me "I really wish you were just getting married here!" WHAT??? ummm...im sorry.... you're mad at ME that YOUR family is canceling?? the kicker is that NOONE else lives in NC on my side or my FI's side except us and my soon to be inlaws. point being- people would have to travel either way!!! oh that just rubbed me the wrong way and really pissed me off!! anyone out there that can relate??

Yes I can. I was getting the same thing from my MIL. She had asked why did I have to do Mexico. Why not DR because that's where they are from. So you'd travel there but not to Mexico? She kept bringing up different resorts like I was going to change it or something. My FIL pretty much came to my defense, he said to her just let them be, it's their wedding let them do it where they want to do it. Very aggravating!!! Can totally relate. I'm still dealing with the comments here and there. But just hang in there just remember its your day and about celebrating your union.

Thank you for responding and understanding! You are so right... This is. OUR day. We totally feel that way and have not taken any "declines" or "cancels" personally. Thanks for the positive words! And... Same to you! Just enjoy planning your day and don't worry about your MIL :)

Thanks, RachelTX. I've heard that sometimes you could do both...the legal plus the catholic ceremony. Am I wrong? why couldn't you do both. I am so confused. :(
I have to say, I have also recently been going nuts over the ceremony. We are having a legal ceremony but I am so not ok with the required script for that. Not only does it not include vows of ring exchange but there's no religious part to it whatsoever. Then l saw through the lomas sight that you can have a minister for $500. I'm already paying for the judge... I just want to have a legal ceremony but with a script that is nice- not the awful one they say is required.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
