Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Bostonbride!!

I actually wrote about this somewhere in this forum, but who knows how long ago that was! I went with my FI last year to scope out all of the Karisma resorts and we actually stayed at the Fives. First off, the Fives is ABSOLUTELY amazing! The service, food, rooms, everything was 5 Star!!! We are having our wedding at the Sensatori because of two main reasons: The Fives is a very small resort, it's long & narrow. To walk from the rooms & lobby area to the pool & beach felt long- because we were walking to/from a lot! The beach is beautiful, but the water isn't very swimmable infront of the resort [very rocky/lots of shells & coral]. If you walk down a minute or so to a more "public area" the water is beautiful! BUT I will say there was a smell of rotten fish and I quickly learned it was due to the large fish heads & skeletons washing up =( I guess it's from the local fishermen. Anyways, here's the biggest reason we chose the Sensatori over the Fives- The wedding ceremony area on the beach at the Fives is directly infront of the infinity pool and in between chairs/on-lookers and next to the volleyball net. There was a wedding going on while we were in the pool- The handful of people there who weren't guests of the wedding, were surrounding the area and watching from in the pool [about 15 feet away]. So if you're looking for "private" & "intimate" that won't happen. But those are the only negative things I can say about the Fives. We went as part of the "brides dress rehearsal" package we heard about from our TA- And we got the ultimate VIP treatment! They knew us by first name, sent us champagne & chocolate & tasting spoons twice! They upgraded us to the penthouse suite! AMAZING! We had a rooftop balcony with BBQ, lounge chairs, a jacuzzi, and even bar area for hanging out or partying! If you are just beginning to scout locations - I'd highly recommend looking into this incentive- It cost us PENNIES I believe it was $300 for both of us for three nights - nothing more [besides airfare]! Also, if you want to see the Sensatori, all transportation to other Karisma resorts is free =)

We chose the Sensatori over 6 other places we saw first hand while we were there. It's a large resort, but walking from one end to the other won't take more than 5-10 minutes. Everything is pretty central, so you won't be walking from one end to the other often anyway. The food & service was just as amazing as the Fives [and many more choices of restaurants!] The great thing about the AS is that it's separated into three sections, so it suits every guest's needs- a premium section which is an adults-only area, a family section, and a "general" section. We did a room block in the general section, but we do have guests who are using the group rate for other room categories in the family area or premium section. You have a great selection of areas for your wedding & reception, as I'm sure you've read about- the beach, roofdeck, indoors, outside patio of the restaurant- whatever makes you happy =)

I'm SO excited to be getting married here, hope this helps you in making your decision!

best of luck & congratulations =)

Jenny

I am very early in the planning stages and am looking at Azul Sensatori and Azul the Fives. We are doing our vow renewal and have had several hiccups along the way, but these are 2 of my top 7. All of them have what I need and what I want well for the most part. Anyway. Can you ladies tell me if you looked at the 5s and why you chose this one over the other?

Thanks, boy this is a way harder decision that I ever thought it would be.

Hello everyone, My fiance and I have decided on the Azul sensatori for our 2014 wedding. We cant book until April as thats when 2014 goes on sale but thats not stopping me to start planning... Im finding it very difficult to pick the 'perfect package' as we obviously want the perfect wedding but we don't have a huge budget as were having a BIG wedding breakfast/reception back home sooo was wondering if I could ask a few questions.. What package has everyone else chosen as I want extras added but need to keep the price down!? As an All inclusive is their extra costs for drinks and wedding dinner? Jade

oh my gosh I know I just saw this today!!!! That's not me (that I know of) but it is so strange bc my name for all websites is usually meggs0386. Meggs0286... Are you out there?? Are you my wedding twin? Haha

We choose the free sweet wedding and added on from there.  It is perfect for us as we don't want to pay a lot extra since everyone has spent plenty on all inclusive and we don't really care about having a "private" event.  We have 36 guest coming and I think it will be amazing.  We used a GI travel agent and got the incentive on that so we do have some private events going on, but not your traditional wedding reception.  But my FI and I are perfectly OK with that.  :)   Our wedding is fast approaching....15 days......so I will let you know soon if it is everything I am anticipating.  :)

Ohh wow i bet your soooo excited!!!! How ling have you been planning it for? The only problem with the sweet free wedding is you have to have 15 rooms occupied by the party and the length of stay is 15 days? Can i ask do you know if you pay extra for the cocktail party, sit down meal and the party after? And do you have any pricing you could email me so i can get a rough idea? X

hi Jade! congratulations!!

I'm not an expert on the Azul resorts, but I know that with Lomas Weddings (who plans all the weddings for the Karisma Resorts), there is an extra per head fee if you choose to have a private event. That may be a cocktail, or it could be a buffet or sit down dinner. Those fees are really reasonable compared to what it would be if you planned the same event elsewhere, as the fees mostly go to have the wait staff and bartenders dedicated to your event. For example, we had a sit-down 3 course meal with steak & lobster tail, and it was $28pp. That same meal probably would have been $100pp in the US.

Have you looked at the banquet packages yet? I don't see the current one posted, but I can share the one I have from planning our wedding. Keeping in mind that prices & menus may have changed.. I can send it to you if you PM me your email address.

As far as the packages, when we were deciding which one to choose, we listed out all the amenities of each of them, and realized that for us, the Free Sweet Wedding was the best choice. We really didn't want/need the things that were "buy ups" and included in the other packages. We were lucky that we ended up having just enough rooms w/ double occupancy to fill the Free Sweet Wedding deal. So you really need to weigh out what is included in each package, and decide what's important to you.

and yes, look into a GIVC travel agent if you don't have a TA you're working with yet. they have additional incentives available, and a private cocktail reception is one option you can choose (at least it's available if you book through Wright Travel, I'm not 100% sure what other GIVC's can offer).

if I can be of any help, please let me know!!

Hi brides, I'm completely new at this but I'm so excited to be planning my destination wedding set for June 25th, 2013.  So glad I found this forum and I was hoping that some of you can help me. I would like to make OOT bags.  What did you guys put in them? And where did you get the bag and items from? What did you guys do for a welcome party?  How much did you have to pay? Did you guys come up with activities for the entire group to do? On or off resort? Did anybody have their reception poolside at the resort? What did you you for decoration? Was it too hot, humid or windy? I'm greatful for any help, suggestions and advice.  Thank you brides!
Hi!! I don't have a lot of time at the moment to answer any of your questions but I wanted to say hi while I was on here and saw your post bc I am getting married 3 days after you so we will be at the resort at the same time! How exciting! We should def meet up when we are there. What are your wedding colors/themes? Maybe we can help each other out and coordinate some things!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
