Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

just thought I'd share - we had our ceremony on Nov 5th at 4pm, with the sun setting by 5pm. I wish I had moved our ceremony back to 3:30 to catch the light for more our photos. We had great light for the ceremony and for formals, but quickly ran out of light for our couples/post wedding photos of the two of us.

I'm new to posting, but of course I've been stalking the boards for a while now :-)

Our date is almost set, don't want to jinx it, but I really wanted to know what time everyone picked for their ceremony, and why?

We are looking at the Sky Deck next November, and I know sunset is at 5pm, and we would like to strike a balance between not too hot, yet still light out... Any experience with that?

Thanks in advance!

XOXO, Kaya

Thank you both RachelTX and AllieH!

I think we are going to choose a 3pm or 3:30pm ceremony then, the last thing I want to do is rush, and we want to have time for a couple of things, like the fire dance show, photo booth etc. It would be nice to get sunset pictures, too, and RachelTX, I would love to hear how that goes for you.

I was married Oct 12th and had the wedding ceremony at 5pm. It was great timing as during the ceremony it was bright out and we took a ton of pictures all the way to sunset.

On the way to the ceremony about 5pm:

400

During the ceremony:

400

After the ceremony 5:30pm:

400

After 6p, during cocktail hour:

400

We got married in Mexico in April this year and it appears our birth certificates have gone missing.  Has any other UK brides been married there and had their birth certificates returned?

Someone has told me that the equivalent Mexico Registrar keeps the original and that this will never be returned

I hope someone can help.

Thanks

Hi there,

I got married there in September and I returned home with our birth certificates, I believe we showed them in our meeting and they took copies but they gave them back to us.

Is there a way you can get back in touch with WC and ask her? They must have stuff on record.

On a better note.... MY DRESS HAS ARRIVED!!! I was nervous b/c it was set to arrive a day or two after Sandy hit our area. So I think worst case scenario and when I didn't hear from them the day it was supposed to come in, i thought it may have not arrived in good condition. but glad to say it did, I can't wait to go see it!!!! YAY!! pinkie.gif

Jenny, it is always so stressful waiting for RSVPs. All you can do is wait, and if anyone that you know really well that you expect to RSVP hasn't...maybe ask them. Unfortunately, you can't really resend every invite...hopefully it will just take a little time and they will all make their way to the correct addresses. And if you see your helpful neighbour thank them, and say it's your wedding invites-that way they will know it's important!

And so thrilled to hear about your dress! When do we get to see photos?rolleyes.gif

HI! I am getting married at AS on June 28, 2013 and have been reading this forum like it's a Bible! It's seriously so helpful! I swear I have asked my WC this question, but is what you said true about the marriage not being considered legal in the US?? Do you know that for a fact?

Thanks!!

Megan

Yes and no. It's not difficult to make it legal. You have to get the marriage certificate translated from Spanish to english. Then you have to register it all your local city hall. If you do not do that, you are not legal in the US or Canada.

It is such a personal choice. We just rented the amp and had playlists on an ipod. We had 63 guests and danced the whole time. Other people really feel they need a DJ to have a party. So I know both work, it just really depends on what you expect and the type of group you have.

Thank you for your reply.  I wish they had just copied ours - we got told they had to keep the originals and that they would be posted back to us within 3 months.  I dont know what the correct procedure is anymore.  Thomsons have been looking into it for us but confirmed now that they are lost.  I might just email the co-ordinator anyway but to be honest ours wasnt much help in the first place.  I would ideally contact the Civil registrar place direct but the only websites I can find that look official are in Spanish.

Thanks again.

Thanks so much murmel!!! I am in NYC, so I'm assuming we haven't been receiving much mail at all lately due to Sandy that hit two weeks ago. So I'll see if I start getting RSVP's again in the coming weeks. I think I'll start to contact some of those "definites" a few weeks prior to RSVP date so I can be a bit more comfortable knowing I have that many less to contact when the date arrives. I know for sure there will be guests who don't RSVP on time, so I'm anticipating that but hopefully I'll have a good idea of how many guests we'll be having soon =)

I will be sure to share pictures as soon as I see it! I decided to go try it on Dec 1st when I go with my BM to look for their dresses. I can't wait, nervous to see it and try it on again, since I've waited 7 months for it to arrive!

Thanks for the helpful advice =)

Hey Murmel- One more question, I know I'd asked before, but need a little more info if you can help =)

The markets in Cancun [23 & 28]- You said they have a party supply store that has everything, including vases. I'm having a hard time finding acrylic vases [so they don't break] so I'd rather buy vases down there. Do they have a big variety, or just basic ones? I'm debating on lugging the glass vases [all 24 of them] from home or just wait until I get down there?

Thanks so much!!!

Thank you! I'm definitely going to get this in writing from my WC. I just want to have from her in writing what the exact procedure is. Why they call it "legal" if it's only partially legal is beyond me. It can get so confusing. I might just switch to symbolic anyway bc I had my WC send me a copy of the "script" and it's super simple and kind of "abrupt." it's not sweet and "wedding-like" at all... We'll see! Thank you so much for your help!

I'm interested in learning more about the markets, too! How far are they/ how much is a cab there?? Where can I learn more about what they have to buy there? I'm assuming it's all cash and negotiable prices?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
