Just thought I would share :)

I agree with you about registering....but since a lot of my friends will be unable to attend and are throwing a bridal shower, they've insisted.  This is the wording I've used on my wedding website....feel free to steal it if you want.  I think its a nice way to say...hey, I don't expect you to get me something, but if you insist here are some things we could use....

Each of you are the reason we are who we are. There is no doubt you had a huge part in bringing us together. So what we want most for this wedding is to have all of our family & friends in the same place at the same time and to be able to celebrate with you. Your presence is the best possible present.  That said, if you really would like to get us something to keep (other than fun memories), we are registered at:

Hope that helps!

Thanks Rachel! I like that wording - that's exactly how we feel about it. I may have to go ahead and steal it. :) Thanks again!

I asked myself the same question about registering for gifts and my initial reaction was a definite "NO" but........then my maid of honour encouraged me to register - because she will be throwing me a shower.  And really,  I've been to 2 destination weddings and we have always given shower gifts and a wedding gift.  People will want to buy you something so it might as well be something that you already want.  Don't feel guilty.     I didn't start my registry until my wedding was 6 months away.  I still haven't added the info to our wedding website because I don't have the registry completed.     You have enough to worry about at initial planning stages and will enjoy something to do that it wedding related in a few months when things quiet down.  Hope this helps.

Thank you! That's what I'm finding...that we don't want anyone to worry about gifts but everyone wants to get them anyway. I think I'll do the same and wait a while...we have plenty of time before the wedding, that's for sure! I'm thinking we'll just register in one place to keep it very low key. This forum is the best - I love hearing what everyone else is doing, it's so helpful!

I agree with you all about registering... .I think one of the honeymoon websites are great.  Can anyone give recommendations regarding a great excursion for the two of us after everyone else leaves?  We don't need anything home related so, donations toward things like excursions, manicures etc. would be great to have.

There are so many great excursions to do...really depends on what interests you? A romantic sunset cruise, exploring the ancient Mayan ruins at Tulum (quite touristy), or the ruins at Coba (you can still climb the temple there), snorkelling at Xelha, shopping and dinner on 5th Ave in Playa del Carmen, Xplor has underground caves to swim through and zip lines....

So let me know what you like to do, and I can offer some different suggestions. We have been down in that area quite often and have done most of the trips!

the underground caves and zip lining sounds fun.  I like snorkeling too.  The sunset cruise sounds nice also.. It All sounds good but there isn't time for everything!  Is there a specific company that you would recommend for the sunset cruise?  I assume the zip lining is at a specific place and easy to find. I've read so many of your posts and you've been so helpful. Thank you!  I've never been down there.

Has anyone used  Wed&Wish for their registry?  Looks like a good one but I've never used one before.  Any recommendations of good, inexpensive registries.  I like that Wed&Wish converts all gifts into cash and deposits them right into your paypal account.  What do you think?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
