Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Hi Amy!! Welcome to the forum!

Depending on the package you get, there are usually dinner reservations included at one of the restaurants, up to a certain # of people. If you wanted a private event [outside of the restaurant] and/or cocktail party, this would be extra. On the Karisma website, in the weddings section, there's a banquet list [believe it's under the "planning your wedding" tab, it lists all the types of dinners you have to choose from. It gives you pricing as well, to help you gauge what's best for you & your guests! There is a BBQ buffet, family-style dinners, and pick & choose dinners where you give guests the choice to decide what they want. It took us a while to go through it all and decide what to do, but you'll figure it out! When are you getting married? Your WC can also supply you with any information you need.

Feel free to ask anything on here as well, we love to help!!

Does a reception and/or cocktail hour come with the price of the package. Or is that completly extra?

There are so much extras, its giving me anxiety. I am already not a planning person. :) haha

Also, I saw sit down dinner options in the private banquet brochure. Does anyone know of any buffet options?

I am getting married October 12, 2013. I have the pearl package with the sky wedding.  I am thinking about using the dinner reservations for a rehearsal dinner type thing. Oh geez, I guess I need to start going through that private banquet list. :) Thanks for the help!

Fire Dancers are $1300 for 45 minutes.  Mariachi band (6 members) 45 minutes, $900.

If you are using a travel agent, check and see if they are GI Wedding Consultant.  If they are you can get a free cocktail reception (which I am using as a rehearsal/welcome cocktail party), photographer credit, or spa credit.  Definitely check into it!!  Otherwise all reception/cocktail hours are in addition to your wedding package.

Can I vent for a minute?

We sent out our STD/Invitation combo in early June and set Oct. 1 as the RSVP online date. Being a DW, I was prepared that not many people would be able to attend, but what I was not prepared for was the complete lack of response. We've heard nothing from almost 70 percent of the guest list. I'm just really hurt and frustrated by it.

I kept holding out hope that maybe people were just waiting to the last minute to decide, but analytics shows that, no, that's not the case, since we had exactly one visitor this weekend and it was likely my mom.

I would LOVE to have fire dancers, but just can't justify the $$.  We are actually going really simple.  We are not having a private reception at all.  We are using our dinner reservation for our reception, then heading over to whichever bar we've decided we like the best.  We currently have 30 joining us, and we are a pretty fun bunch...figure we can make it a party where ever we go.  We are doing just the smallest 2 person cake for the "traditionalness" of it and I'm thinking we'll do a first dance on the beach immediately following the ceremony.  My FI and I just can't see spending all that extra money, when everyone has spent so much for their food and drinks already.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
