Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!

I am new to this board - I originally wanted to get married at Dreams Los Cabos and have been waiting for 8 months for the price to drop, but in the end it is just too expensive and I feel too guilty asking my guests to pay 2k a person.. after much search I think Azul Sensatori is the place for me! I plan to get married in April 2013.. am looking into rates/ availability now. Need to book ASAP.

I think I spent 10 hours yesterday reading posts on this board lol! It is sooo helpful so thank you all!!

I wanted to ask those who were already married here - is the sky terrace really windy since you are elevated? Would appreciate the feedback. Thanks so much!

jamilaimani  - Thanks for reporting back. I can't believe they are now charging $25 pp for Le Chique. I just told my FI and both of us are FURIOUS! We have been telling our guests all about it since last year and many are really looking forward to it since they are such foodies person. Now to learn you have to pay $25 on top of the room rate on top of the airfare is NOT someone we were expecting at all! All of them are already making such sacrificies and now to tell them to cough up more money! Its not like $25 will break the bank but its the principal that my FI and I were never aware of this hike! Sorry i am just venting..... soooo upset!

As for your upgrade to the swim up, do you remember what room #? Were you in the Premier section? I'm curious which rooms is located near the sewer...

thanks!

Hi! My big date is in November so I will report back on the cake. But based on the reviews from past brides, my Fi and I are expecting it to be bad. We hope if we set our standards low we will be pleasantly surprised. Sorry to disappoint you....

Thanks Elaine. Yeah, that's our expectation, too. Still working on some alternatives with the wedding department, but it'd be nice to get a "current" status report since most of the cake reviews I've seen are older.

LOCATIONS

We went to look at all the locations for weddings, cocktail hour, and receptions.  We are set on the sky wedding!! We like the Zavaz plaza for the reception.  Not sure where we would do cocktail hour. AB has a smaller sky deck which we liked as well but we didnt like the reception places too much.  I will say that the beach at AB is WAAAAYYYY better than AS.  The reviews of AS beach is true. It was a horrible beach and is absolutely not swimable. Black seewead all thru the beach and it has a brown color. I will say that they do clean it up thru the day but it doesnt really help. AB had a pretty nice beach. We walked there from AS and just a warning there is a nude/swinger resort inbetween and we got an eyefull! Just a caution for anyone wanting to walk down there to take pics or go to beach.

This is a great review/comparison of the two resorts for those just starting their planning!  I would like to say that the beach at AS isn't horrible every day.  If it's particularly choppy, the water does look cloudy and there is always seaweed but it is totally swimable.  We were in the water a bunch during the week we were there and even though I had read it was very hard to walk in because of the broken coral, we didn't have a problem at all.  I'm not saying the beach at AS is better than AB at all, just want people to realize the AS beach is affected by weather.  The one thing I will say is that although the maintenance crew cleans the beach EVERY day, by the time most people are getting married (late afternoon/evening), it is full with seaweed again.  After we got married, I saw the Lomas wedding consulatants setting up another wedding and they were actually clearing the seaweed from in front of the ceremony location.  I REALLY wish I had thought to ask them about this because I really hated to see it in our pictures.  The water color was absolutely gorgeous the day of our wedding though.  Oh and we saw quite a few people walking topless along the beach in front of AS which really bugged me as we had a bunch of children with us but I guess there is nothing the resort can do about that.

I agree with Elaine - that REALLY sucks about them adding a charge for Le Chique!  I'd be pissed too!!

I am tring to plan and I am very confused with everything! ughhh

Does a reception and/or cocktail hour come with the price of the package. Or is that completly extra?

There are so much extras, its giving me anxiety. I am already not a planning person. :) haha

Also, I saw sit down dinner options in the private banquet brochure. Does anyone know of any buffet options?

Thanks so much!! I appreciate it =)

I know, I was bummed when my WC told me I can't modify the ceremony to make it more personal!

We originally were going to do a "symbollic" ceremony, but when my MIL heard of it, she wasn't having it LOL

So now with the legal ceremony, I'm coming across all of these details I wasn't aware of!

Thanks so much for the helpful info! I know I'm really bummed I can't modify the ceremony =(

We were supposed to do a symbollic ceremony, but our moms got word of it [from my FI lol] and they said we HAD to do a legal ceremony ughhhh

So now I'm hoping to see what can be done. I think it's silly they'll only allow us to say our vows after the ceremony concludes, but oh well maybe we'll see how it can fit in.

Thanks for the kind words! I love how they came out! I made boarding pass STD's, which were a hit, but very time consuming! That's why we opted to have someone make our passport invites- b/c if the STD's were so much to do, I could only imagine how long it would have taken to do invites!

I just got back Monday from the bridal dress rehearsal and asked about the Legal Ceremony. I was told that the Ceremony has to be performed in Spanish for it to be legal. The Wedding Certificate will be in Spanish too and then translated.  For the Ceremony it has to be performed by a judge, in spanish, and has to contain certain wording. You cant alter to far away from the script. The translater will translate for you and afterwards you can do your own vows.  I didnt like this at all and we decided to get legally married here in the states and not tell anyone. We are going to have a symbolic wedding in Mexico, noone will no its not legal. We are just going to go to the courthouse a day or two before we leave for Mexico.

I LOVE your invitations!!! Once we confirm our date we will start working on ours! I am thinking about doing the boarding pass invitations and luggage tag STD's.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
