Have you looked at the weather in riviera maya for next week... probably not.. but I did since I fly out in 7 days and married in 10... needless to say there is 85% chance of rain for 10 out of the 13 days we are there... including the wedding day.. bummer

Don't get to worried. For the most part they are Mexican "showers". It might rain for 30 minutes and then it will clear up. I can't tell you how many times we have been to Mexico and expected rain everyday- and it usually only ended up with one or two sun showers and maybe some rain overnight. (we have been to Mexico for an average of 2 visits per year for the last 6 years) Including 2 hurricanes! (and even those were really not bad)

Wow! I had no idea the set up fee needs to be paid in cash! Good to know. Anything else that needs to be paid in cash? I assumed they would just tack onto bill and then you can just pay at the end when you leave. I guess I shoud not assume... lol

My cocktail hour is for 2 hours but I requested for it to be 1.5 hr and the other 1/2 hour is being tacked onto my reception. So my reception will be 4.5 hrs. The cocktail hour is from 3:30-5:00. Then pictures b/w 5:00-6:30.  And then the reception is 6:30-11:00.  I can have the photo booth set up from 6:00-8:00.  Since I am sure group pictures will not last 1.5 hrs.  As for the Guest Mad Libs...hum... i guess I can have them hand these out during the cocktail hour by 4:30? That gives guests 1/2 hr to fill out. I am having the reception at Plaza Zavaz. Did you have a break b/w your cocktail hour and reception? Or was the reception right after cocktail hr.

I think i am driving myself crazy..... I am normally pretty decisive but for some reason can't seem to make up my mind on this... :(. I think I am having a hard time figuring out how long will people eat for during the cocktail hour and how long will group shots be... I have 58 guests so i would imagine it would not be quick...

I think I'd do the photo booth at the beginning so people could do it as they walk in...  Where is your reception going to be?

I finally found the time to upload pictures of our invitations!! I found a fabulous vendor on Etsy [invitingDesignStudio] who made these beauties for me!! Unfortunately, for now, she has stopped making these custom passport invites due to her pregnancy [by now, I'm sure she's a mommy!] But, if you're interested, definitely contact her to see if she plans on starting them up again in the future. Only thing I'd forgotten when ordering was asking to print addressees & return addresses. I tried for hours to match the color purple as seen on inside of passport, but b/c of the paper & shiny finish it dulls the color a bit. But, they're only envelopes, so I got as close as possible & printed them all out in one night =) And best part of all, I was able to find the same script font online that IDS had used for the passports!!

I'm super excited to finally be sending these out. ..Hope you all love them, b/c I do!!

**The purple came out really dark in pictures [my camera doesn't take blues/purples well], so it's much lighter & matches great in person! But you can get the drift!**

I had asked for a double-sided RSVP tag made, to include the menu options for guests to select. This way, it's only 1 tag to send back in the envelope & guests won't miss including something!

Hope you like them...

Try not to worry too much about the weather forecast. I arrived there on 2nd Sept and got married on the 6th and left on the 12th. On the week running upto us going it said heavy thunder storms every day.. When we were there, not one single day of rain or cloud :) xxx

Thanks so much Elaine!!!!! I am THRILLED, they came out even better than I'd expected!!! I believe I paid about $938 for 150 invites, so it came out to about $6.25 each. I paid extra for the double sided RSVP card, but other than that it was standard pricing. I researched everywhere, and this vendor had the most for the initial price- many others have price as you go depending on what you want. I am soo excited, they'll hopefully be in the mail tomorrow!! YAAAAAY!!!!! How are you doing? Your date is quickly approaching =) Hope it's going smoothly!!

If i had to do it over again, I would have def opted to do the passport invitations! Your guests are going to love these!!!!! So happy for you!! :)

Hi Nicole!!

Thanks so much!! If you're interested, you should definitely contact her- you never know!!

Hi Ladies!!

Hoping someone [perhaps a newlywed?] can help me out with a dilemma I just ran into-

I was just speaking with my WC about the ceremony- we are doing a legal ceremony- and they told me the judge will most likely speak Spanish and have it translated. I requested English-speaker, so hopefully that works out =/

Also, just found out we can't change any details of the ceremony and if we wanted to say our own vows, we'd have to do it after the ceremony concludes- really?! LOL I don't want to do that, as it's silly and really thought they'd let us play a little with the words being said since it's our wedding, but apparently not! Any advice, what did you experience? I'd appreciate your help =)

Thanks everyone!!

Jenny

That's very interesting! I think they should be able to tailor the wedding to the couples wants. I am doing a symbolic ceremony, but wanted to add a reading and a different vow. I was supposed to have a conference call with my WC and the onsite WC, but do to some emergency at the hotel the call got cancelled. Whenever it gets rescheduled, I will definitely ask them about this.

Hello Ladies!

I am new to this site. I just Booked my wedding at Azul Sensatori on October 12, 2013 @ 3pm on the Sky Terrace. Very excited. My wedding coordinator is Lynda, and I am bringing my own photographer from my home town with me.  That is all I know so far. haha Not much I guess.

Its pretty far away, I have not even tried on one dress yet! I am excited to see what everyone is doing, and planning.

Very Excited!

Amy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
