Question on Groomsmen gifts - Do you get them all the same gift? Or is it a big no no to give them different gifts? A couple of guys I know would really appreciate watches and a couple of guys would really appreicate a mini bourbon barrel and a couple of other guys would appreciate a shaving set.  My FI and were thinking of giving them gifts based on what we think they would like and their personalities. Is this ok?

In my opinion, I think it would be great to get them each something that they are interested in and would actually like/use.  I say go for it!!  It's more personal that way as well.

Excellent!  Thanks!  I didn't know if I was going to have to snag it secretively or not so that is good to know.  :)

Personalized gifts are great. For my bridesmaids, I bought them all the same locket, but inside each locket will be a different picture and quote. For my best guy friend (who is standing up on my side) I got him engraved guitar picks. My fiance decided to get all his groomsmen boardshorts, but they are all different for each persons taste. After he bought them, I even guessed correctly which shorts were going to which groomsman.

I feel like any gift someone gets you is always appreciated because it always feels good to know they are thinking of you. I am sure whatever you decide, it will be a great choice!

Hi Ladies,

I am doing the boarding pass invitations and have been pricing them online and its about 4-7 dollars a piece. We are expecting about 60-75 guests but are sending invites to about 250-300 ppl. Thats 1200-2100 dollars just for invites! Sheesh!!! I dont want to spend that much but I am not at all DIY savvy. Does anyone know any sites that do them cheaper? What did you guys do for your invites?  There are certain ppl I know are coming but I feel obligated to send invites anyway. Also, my mother and my FI mother have a list of ppl that they want us to send invites to. Some of whom neither one of us have met. Would it be rude of me to tell them we arent sending them invitaions? My mom is helping a little with the cost of the wedding but his mother hasnt offered to help at all. So I dont feel like we should HAVE to send out invites to all of their friends.

In other news one more week before we go to the bridal rehearsal! Woo Hoo!!!

Wow! That is a LOT of invites! I am not sure which site has cheaper boarding pass invitations but what about doing 2 different kinds. Meaning, spend the money on the boarding pass invitations on those who you know will go. As for the people who you do not know (and most likely not coming) send them a more inexpensive invitation, like the ones you can get from Michaels. They come in a box & you can just print them out yourself...really easy.  Of course, there is always the other option, which is asking your FI to ask his mom on chipping in.

I went to my dress rehearsal last year and had blast!  Have fun! Ask many questions and take many pics! And don't forget to ask to visit the other Karisma resorts, such as El Dorado Royale. My FI and I LOOVVEEDD El Dorado Royale but this is an adults only resort. Our guests are bringing kids so we picked Azul Sensatori.  Don't forget to report back on your experience! :)

Two different types of invites works perfectly!! Thank you Elaine!!! I love this site btw. As far as the FI mom chipping in. Even if by some miracle she does chip in, I would rather spend that money on something other than invitations. I am actually considering only sending out invitations rather than save the dates AND invites. Would this be tacky?

I have already started a list of questions for the dress rehearsal. I know they are taking us to the El Dorado Royale and we also asked to go to Azul Beach. I am hoping that we can also go to El Dorado Maroma. We are considering either El Dorado Maroma or El Dorado Casitas Royale for our mini honeymoon.  I am going to take a ton of pics and cant wait to come back and report.  Do you know what perks you get for bookinging your wedding after going to the rehearsal?

My guest list was only a fraction of yours but we opted to do boarding pass invitations in place of save the dates. Figured people would want the time to book and decide if they were coming and that sending multiple things was just going to get too expensive. We used http://www.serendipitybeyonddesign.com/

I could not agree with you more! This site is AMAZING! Past and future brides are incredibly helpful!!!

Not at all! I did not do it either. But I did set up a wedding website outlining the resort's information, my travel agent's info, etc.  Trust me those who are coming will know the date, or you can remind them to visit the site (if you set one up).

Yes, you should be able to visit El Dorado Maroma and El Dorado Casitas Royale. Just make sure you tell them as soon as you arrive and they should be able to make the necessary transportation.  Trust me, they are going to wait on you hand and foot....whatever you want, they will say yes. Remember they want your business...lol.   They will actually give you a sheet (at least I know i got one) that gives you the perks for booking with them depending on the # of rooms you book. For example, booking b/w 1 - 15 rooms has certain perks and booking 16-30 are another set of perks and so on and so on. Also, your travel agent will also be able to help you with the perks. The only thing you need to keep in mind is the very expensive add-ons.

Enjoy your dress rehearsal!

Elaine

Thank You Kathryn. Which design did you use? I like the tropical boarding pass but it is $9+ per invite. I am starting to think I am going to have to do a DIY boarding pass invite. I have seen some done on this site and they turned out really great. It just seems so time consuming.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
