Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I just read this now and my heart really goes out to you!!! I know exactly what you are going through & only imagine what you're feeling- because the same thing happened with my best friend [childhood friends since we were 8 yrs old]. It's something you never would think of happening, & when it does it hits you like a brick wall. I've tried to be understanding and OK with her not being there on our wedding day. Although my friend's reason for not being able to attend was different, I don't think it's an acceptable one. She said it was b/c she didn't think her 2 yr old would be comfortable in a new setting and they are tight on money. We have tons of friends & family bringing even newborns and others that are budgeting starting from the minute they received out STD's. So call me selfish, but I think it's fair for us to say it's not acceptable in some situations.

Many other guests have already explained they cannot make it; And although we'd love for everyone to be there, we were prepared to accept not everyone will be. BUT, when it's someone so close to you and one of the few "definites" you thought you had coming no matter what, it's really hard to accept. You have to keep your head up and focus on all of the other important people in you and your FI's lives that will be there to make your day even more special. I'm sure you're wanting to elope b/c of this upsetting news, but it's not the right reason to do so- Don't let one person ruin your most special day!!! I am here for you if you need to let out more rants & raves ;) That's what we are all here for!! Just know you have lots of people here that go through the same challenges, but it always works out.

HEAD UP!!

Hello ladies!!

It has been a very busy few weeks, so I'm just catching up on this forum to see how you are all doing =)

So FYI, I just got an email from WC dept. saying my WC was switched to Lynda Gomez [i was working with Amanda P].

I'm not sure what happened to Amanda, but I can' t say I'm really upset to hear about the switch. [Not sure if she left the company, or they just switched WC's for other reasons].

I'm hoping things go way better than they did with Amanda- Lynda emailed me already giving me some very positive news & negotiated some excellent prices for us without hesitation [whereas Amanda was up in the air and I was waiting for more than 1 week for a reply, as usual]. I'm most concerned with the amount of time it takes to respond & confirm details with the resort.

Do any of you work already with Lynda, any feedback on her?

I'm hoping this change is a positive one =)

Can anyone believe how fast time is going by? We're almost halfway through August, so I'm coming up to 9 months away!!

We booked it almost 1 year in advance, thinking it was so much time- LOL - It is starting to fly by! Hope everyone's planning is going well!!

Hey Jenny I am also working with Lynda! She seems to be pretty good so far, no complaints expect that I can not use Fresa! Have they said that you can use them? Are you doing a cocktail party before the reception? I not sure I want to pay for one! Time is going by so fast!

Hi Gina!!

Great, thanks for giving me some positive feedback for Lynda =)

So the resort won't allow you to bring in items provided from Fresa, if you pick it up off the resort & bring it in yourself? I'm trying to find some way to have Fresa provide certain items for the wedding, hopefully there's a way!!

Yes, we're doing a cocktail party before the reception. We did actually receive a free cocktail party [up to 50 people, plus $10 pp above that] from our travel agent, who's a GI consultant, so it was a perk of booking with them! But, we used the free cocktail for a "welcome party" instead. I wanted a different selection of liquor & hor d'orves, so we are paying for the wedding day cocktail. The WC suggested 5 pieces per person at the cocktail, and they have a pick & choose menu so you can choose up to 5 slections to have passed around at the cocktail. On average, it's about $2-$3 per piece, so figure about $15 per person X however many guests you're having. Hope that helps!

They really just look like rooms from any normal hotel with little windows an no real feeling of Mexico or the elegance of the rest of the resort. We saw one wedding there while we were that and they had it as a back up to their outdoor wedding and worked fine but compared to the other areas around the resort I did not like it as a first option. I think my WC sent me some pictures of some receptions there so I can look and email those to you.

Thanks for the info.  This makes me so confused, because I've seen some pictures of beautifully decorated private rooms that have a dance floor and are pretty nice.  My problem is that my wedding is probably going to have around 80 people, so we are looking for an air-conditioned space, where we can have a DJ, dance floor, room to move around, etc.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I also have Lynda, but I haven't really done anything on the planning side, beyond reserving the date and getting an e-mail from her with all the info.  I feel like there's still some time left, but as Jenny said, it seems like it's flying by.  My added surprise prior to the wedding, my FI and I are due in January.  That puts a little brake on getting things like the dress, etc.  Anyone else facing unexpected challenges in their planning process?

Well girls....you were correct, Amanda is leaving the company that is why people are getting reassigned.  I got an email from her today.  I have been reassigned to Elizabeth so I am pretty excited since ya'll love her!  I haven't had any problems with Amanda though :)

Thanks for info Jenny on the cocktail party! I am not sure yet what we are going to do for that yet! Everything is adding up so quickly! Have you heard anything about whether you can use Fresa f you meet them outside the resort?

Has anyone decided what they are doing for food options? I am between the pick and choose and the petit gourment.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
