I love it and think it is perfect since i really do not want to pay an arm and a leg for real flowers through Lomas. The bout is approx $17.50 and my calla lilies bouquet will be approx $110. I believe Lomas is charging 3x that amount!

Thanks for sharing Elaine! I'd really like flowers on my cake but looks like the cake decorator's skills at the resort are maybe a tich subpar, and real flowers cost a fortune, so this may be a possibility, hooray!

We are also going at a different time than you so that could make a difference.  Is your TA a GI certified TA with Karisma (or whatever they're called)?  They will get better deals.  My TA also went through FunJet and was able to negotiate a few price reductions even with our group rate.  This is not usually allowed but we had a bit of family drama when my future SIL decided to book outside of our group block and, with only a few people going, nearly caused us to lose our great rate and $1200 in deposit!  Our TA worked it out for us, thank goodness!

yes, my TA is a GI certified with Karisma. Ahh..i never thought about the times being a factor but good point. Also, I just realized my quote price includes the round-trip transfers, so if i deduct the transfer fees then a regular jacuzzi suite for double occupancy for 3 nights is $954, so that is $318 per night for 2 people. Whew..ok, i feel a little better. thx!!

Hi Elaine!! Great to see a fellow NY'er as well =) I'm in Queens, Middle Village to be exact- so not too far from you at all! Oh man, I thought if you booked a night for the outside vendor, that would be fine. Now I see how the hotel gets you with the $800 fee, but I think it still might be a bit cheaper to book 3 nights for the photographer/DJ. As much as I love Elizabeth Medina, my FI thinks she's a bit expensive. He seems not to understand that if we were getting married here, it would be WAY more than $5-6K but "we're not having it here" LOL So I'm hoping to persuade him! I wish we could use the free rooms for the vendors, that would be great, but we were thinking of offering them to our parents. I'll see what happens when we know for sure who to book =)

Thanks for the help!!!

But instead of adding $800 onto my package, my WC wrote "on guest list".  If you are interested in Elizabeth Medina, I can email you her price listing and the different packages she offers.  Just send me an email... cheung79@aol.com.  Photographers anywhere outside of NY would be cheaper. lol.  Do you live in manhattan? I use to live in UES, but my rent was getting ridiculous so i am now residing in bayside.

DawnDean - Good Question - i should probably double check with the airlines, but I had planned on dividing it amongst my family and myself and placing it in the carry-on bags (of course wrapped tightly in newspaper). I have carried glassware before in my carry-on and never had a problem. But you never know these days, since they seem to change the rules on what you can and cannot carry-on to the plane. Sill not sure if i am flying AA or Jetblue but i'll call both just to be sure... And yes, i totally agree, this forum is awesome and its only b/c the brides on here are soo supportive and helpful!!  BTW- i planned on buying the maracas when i arrive....i'm sure this will not be difficult to find.

Hi Ladies! I'm glad I read some posts here about the menus options. I didn't know our guests had to make their selections prior to being there for the dinner! Is this how it works for all options, including private functions? And how many options do you get to choose from when you asks guests to select? They have some amazing options, I hope I can offer a few =)

Hiya! I had two options for my guests to choose from 2 main courses. So we would all have the same starter and dessert and then everyone would choose from 2 main courses. I got to pick the 2 courses, everyone had a choice of. I have had to let my WC know in advance. I think you only get to choose what courses with the private events. With the dinner thats included in Spoons, you get to choose from 2 options on the day but its a set meal. I have the menu for that if you are interested :) xxx

I am either choosing to either do the buffet or family style dinner. There's a little bit of everything and it was one less thing I had to worry about.

Each table will have a luminary with the menu on it. Click HERE to see a picture of the menu.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
