For the girls that have already used the salon- how much was it to have your bridesmaids' hair done? Thanks!

They used to have a really nice spa "menu" on their website but I guess it's gone.  I had it linked on our wedding website for our guests.  I was quoted $86 (plus 10% service charge to the spa - not owned by Karisma) to have my daughter's hair done and our wedding is next month.  You should ask your wedding consultant so they can lock in the rate.  I'm sure they'll be going up every chance they get!

Thanks for the info. The question issue I am dealing with is having guests pay per person for a room. The quote I got shows people paying individually for each room so a family of 4 pays a certain price X4 instead of just paying a price for a room. Doesn't make any sence at all.

It can vary on how you find the prices, but usually it is  a per person cost. Kids will be cheaper. There are certain rooms that can handle families- but the prices also vary and you have to get them booked in advance. We had a family we 3 young boys, and they reserved the 'family suite'. It's actually 2 rooms with a large sliding door connecting them. One room has a queen bed, the other 2 singles and a pull out couch.

This sounds about right. It's really too bad they have removed the price lists. I am sure if you as your WC they can send one to you. As well, if I remember correctly- a manicure was about $45, pedicure $55 (about a year ago)

Argh, I wanted to pay for my BM's hair and makeup, but given the spa prices, I don't think we can afford it ($168 for makeup, seriously?!).  Have any of you seen hair/makeup deal being advertised on the main page of BDW? $100 for hair and makeup for BM's and $150 for the bride by Sara Tamargo.  It looks like she does beautiful work.  I am trying to figure out whether it's worth it and will save me $ considering I'm sure I'd be charged the $800 outside vendor fee if I went this route.

Hi Jenny, I've searched and I can't find websites for them.  However, I haven't asked my WC about it, so maybe they do have one...? Let me know if you hear anything :)

I don't know if it helps for comparison, I got a quote back from DJ Mannia today (who I've heard is highly recommended!) for $990 for 4 hrs.  I was thrilled until I realized I would still owe another $800 on top of this to Karisma.

Question for you ladies...so as time passes it seems like our guest list gets smaller and smaller, which is ok with me; I'm thinking we'll likely have 30 guests, max 40 and that's pushing it.  Initially I was thinking 50 guests, so I thought for sure I'd hire a DJ.  Now I'm wondering should I still do a DJ or do something more intimate like a mariachi band for dinner and IPod music after? Thoughts?

I am full of questions today! One more for previous brides or ladies who have previously visited the resort: Are guests provided with a list of restaurants/amenities/map of the resort upon their arrival at AS or in their rooms? I am just trying to figure out whether it's necessary to include this information in a welcome booklet?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
