I also noticed that they did flowers, cakes, and decorations, so I priced them against what I was getting at Sensatori.

Then I saw a post about the free Welcome Cocktails and someone using it for the wedding cocktail hour. (I was using mine for the day before.) I contacted my wedding coordinator at Azul and asked if I could use that free cocktails for my wedding cocktail hour instead...and she said yes! That is saving me about $1,200.

With Azul I would have gotten the flowers, sheers for the gazebo and a cocktail hour, but going with Fresa Weddings  I am getting the flowers, sheers for gazebo, cake pops, and a fire dancer show for only $300 more. And yes, the price difference does include the vendor fee.

YAY!

Way to go!!!!  Really, it's nice to hear a story about someone getting what they want for their wedding and not having to pay outrageous fees.  I'm all for paying for what something's worth but it really drives me nuts to bring a group down there to stay for a week AND getting charged that vendor fee.  It's not like the resort isn't getting loads of money from you and your guests.  If I was having a bigger wedding, I'd definitely go with Fresa!

So this is my first post.  I'm getting married at AS on November 11, 2012 and I'm starting to decide on all my details.  I need some opinions about using Lomas for flowers, decorations, cake, and DJ.  I don't want to pay the outside vendor fee unless it's totally worth it.  I've been trying to read through some of these post but there are so many!!!!  I looked at the Fresa website and loved what they had but as far as decorations and cake options.  Does anyone know if I would use Fresa for flowers, decorations, cake, and photography if that is considered one vendor???

What photographers are all you Azul brides going with?

Hi! I'm new here and hoping to get some feedback from the group. I want to commit to Azul Sensatori for an April 7,2013 wedding but my TA haven't clarified for me if the bride & groom stay free promotion is available next year. She can't seem to get the promotion list for 2013. Any bride getting married in 2013 know of any confirmed promotion? I'm falling in love with this resort but I want to stretch my $$$ since this is a renewal of vows and we have 3kids so travel alone is a lot. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Hi, can you clarify on the 'free cocktail hour'. Is that included for any wedding at Azul, and does that include any food?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
