I am trying to decide if I should get fire dancers for the wedding. The price through Lomas is $2500 for 30 min, which I thought was waaaaay too much. I have done some research and have a quote for $800 for a 15 minute show. But of course, Azul will charge an outside vendor fee of $800, so the total would be $1,600. I tried to get Lomas to give me a 15 minute show for half the price, but they did not go for that.

 

Have any of you other brides had fire dancers at your wedding? Or anyone else researching it and have more information?

I didn't look into the fire dancers, but I did have a similar situation with a Mariachi Band.  I REALLY wanted the Mariachis at my reception during dinner.  Lomas's price seemed very high, and after some research, I found that Lomas charged more than double the price for less than half of the playing time as comparable bands in the area.  I tried and tried to talk to my WC about it, but they would not budge an inch on the price.  I was going to go ahead and get them anyway, but decided not to, mostly on principal.  I would have had no problem paying the price Lomas charged if that was the actual market value (or even remotely close), but there is only so much that one should pay for any given thing, and Lomas's prices on most things are way over the line, in my opinion.   And I got irritated at giving in to their pricing on everything.  $1600 seems like a lot to me for 15 minutes of anything (especially since $800 of it is basically for nothing).  But the heart wants what it wants (my own personal motto during my wedding planning), so I understand the struggle!

You would think Lomas would be smart enough to lower their prices to the comparable going rate because then more of us would be getting mariachi bands/ fire dancers, etc...not very business saavy! thatswck.gif

It's so dumb... It's $400 to get a mariachi band for 45 mins at the Barcelo............... that's $1100 less!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
