Love the bridesmaid dresses too, are they those convertable ones that are all the same but can be worn different ways? Ive seen those advertised on Etsy, but never seen them on or in real wedding photos, they look awesome! Where did you get them from? x

Hi,

Ive booked the Spoons meal for our wedding day. Ive got about 19 guests so it felt right.

Ive been told that the menu is set and cannot change but they provide personalised menus. Its in a curtained off area of the restaurant.

Hope that helps.

First off, my fiance and I have been together 14 years (since we were 16) and I never thought this day would come so I am almost intimidated and freaked out by it. We are not the traditional couple at all. We are only having roughly 15-20 guests at the wedding since we will be doing a big party at our house in May when the weather is nice in Chicago. Here are some questions that I have:

Did anyone get married at the Sky Deck? If so what were the costs associated with that and did you find it to be well worth it as opposed to the beach location?

Has anyone had their reception at Spoons? What are the menus like for that? Do you choose your own menu?

We are pretty sure we are going to hire Ivan Luckie (I am totally in love with his work) has anyone here had experience with him at this resort?

Thank you so much for any help and wisdom you can lend to me.

Eva

Hi,

I'm having my welcome dinner at Spoons the night before the wedding, they told me there's a semi private area in the center of the restaurant (it's a little more private than curtains).

We are only having 15 at our wedding so we're having our dinner at Spoon.  This is what my wedding coordinator sent me for the set menu:

SET MENU REST. SPOON

Ensalada cesar tradicional con queso parmesano, anchoas y croutones

Traditional Cesar salad with parmesan cheese, anchovies and croutons

Sopa vichyssoise, crema de poro y papa

Vichyssoise soup, cream of leek and potato

Steak au poivre Filete de res a la parilla con salsa de pimienta

Steak au poivre grilled Angus beef tenderloin with pepper sauce

Or

Suprema de pollo a la BBQ de guanábana  y verduras rebosadas en tempura de cerveza

Guanábana barbequed chicken breast of with tempura vegetables

Opción vegetariana

Vegetarian option

Pasta penne con vegetales asados

Penne pasta with grilled vegetables

Postre del dìa

Dessert of the day

She also said guests are welcome to use the buffet part of the restaurant as well, which is good for the 4 kids we have coming.  Here is the picture she sent me how they section off the area for semi-private events:

Somewhere I read that the tables will be setup for groups of 4-6 but I just sent a picture of how I wanted our table setup for all of us and they didn't seem to have a problem with it.  Hope that helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
