I haven't posted much here yet as I'm still so far out (May 2013), but I want to thank everyone for all of your ideas and advice. I went back to page 700 and have gotten so much from you guys.

I had my first bit of wedding drama last night and you guys make me feel so much better about my DW decision. My sister called to tell me that my entire family is pissed off at me for wanting a DW. So I start thinking about an outer banks wedding since I'm in NC. That makes FI upset since I'm starting to give in to what others want for our day. It's nice to have you girls that are excited for Azul despite the drama it can cause. Thanks for your support!

Michelle- we have ALL had the ups and downs. Please use everyone here for support and being a sound board. Most importantly, make the decisions you and your FI are happy with. Since at the end of the day, that's who should be happy!

Ive not been on here for a few weeks.  Ive been so busy with other bits of the wedding planning.  Its great to see so many of you moving forward with your plans!

As the wedding draws closer I am finding more and more hurdles to jump!! Unfortunately our wedding party of 24 has dropped to 17 adults, 2 children.  I'm so worried about the set up of the wedding.  I have opted for the beach BBQ and worried it will look ridiculous with only 3 tables and a dancefloor for such a small number.  Has anyone else had a wedding or booked a wedding with numbers of less than 20?

A few people have said I'm worrying over nothing but it matters to me that the set-up looks right!

Hoping you guys can advise

HI Everyone!  I am so excited to see a blog on Azul Sensitory!  I am getting married Oct 26th 2012 at Azul.  I am have slowly been piecing through the replies and would love to get feed back on brides who had more then 30 guests and how they did the dinner part.  Our bridal party is a little larger then i think the typical DW.  five on each side with another male and female as ushers.  I know it is still so early but I wonder how the 'private event' dinner arrangements went for other brides.  What you did, the added cost, was it on the beach?  pictures would be awesome too!  thanks ladies!

Hi Amy,

have you considered a beach reception? I know that one of the options our coordinator offered was to have a big long banquet table. You may find this suits you better, have you given this some thought? Will the children be at the party? Would the parents be open to babysitters? just so you know what the options are...

Hi! I would recommend visiting Azul Sensatori to be sure this resort is the right fit for you. Also, check out this site  http://www.weddingscaribbeans.com/  so you have an idea of the costs...of course if you have any specific questions, you can post on this thread! This has been a life saver to me.....

Jessie - I am also going with DJ Doremixx. He said the only form of payment he accepts is through Western Union. Is this how you paid? I'm sure it is fine but i just wanted to double check. I always get weary about sending payments through western union. Thanks!

All that being said, I think doing it yourself with their sound system is a decent option too.  If you don't mind coming up with a playlist that you think you and your guests will enjoy and don't care about the extras (props, lighting, etc.), I think the sound system would suit your needs.  Whichever way you choose to go will work out perfectly well!

Michelle,

It is your day....make sure you do what will make you happy!  :)

I had a little drama too, but in the end, wouldn't have had in any other way!  It was amazing to be away with our closest friends and family for 7 days...

Good luck to you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
