Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies,

I'm very excited that the brochure prices are out for March 2013 here in the UK. Ive spoken to my TA today and we can get booked as soon as we like. Am having an issue with some of my wedding party being singles, and being quoted £100 per night extra single supplement which I think is extortionate!!! The singles cant really share either, as they are folk who dont know each other!! Anyway, we'll be booked soon, I cant wait to get my date and be added to 'the list' . To make things even more exciting, I found THE dress yesterday :D

Some questions for you all, does anyone know how booking a private reception works? Would I have to pay extra for the hire of a location for this, then extra for the wedding meal, and extra for the DJ too? I've been looking on lomas-travel and cant seem to find much info about private receptions.

Also can anyone tell me if DJ Doremixx and Ivan Luckie (photographer) are classed as outside vendors?

Thanks!

We are doing a private event and we will be paying for the Pick and Choose dinner.  You pay extra for your menu items and any set up that of lanterns, etc..  We really wanted it to feel like a reception and have it more private. If our numbers were smaller (we have 24 going), we would have just done the Spoons dinner which is included in our package.  We are using Spoons for our welcome dinner instead.  Once you book with the resort, they will assign an off site wedding coordinator who will give you all the information you need.  Hope this helps.

Here's the link to the banquet costs:

First off, congrats on finding the dress!!!!   Picture?

The location on the resort is technically free, as the dinner is extra.  We went with the pick and choose as well, and it is plated service...we liked it!  :)

Yes, the DJ and Photographer is extra, even if you are using the resorts "people"...(the info. on their pricing should be on Lomas' site)...but if you want to use Ivan Luckie and DJ Doremixx (I used both for mine), you have to pay the resort's outside vendor fee, which I believe is now $800 per outside vendor.  :(

Thats the crappy part of AS...it does not support using outside vendors very well, and have made a list of vendors they don't allow on the resort (your WC from Miami once you have your date booked can give you a more up to date list) and obviously the price of bringing them in....If photos are really important to you, I would look into flying someone in with you.  They don'tmake you pay the outside vendor fee if your photographer stays for 3 nights min.

:)

MWise17 - Thank you sooo much for the pics of smores bonfire! I will def be adding this.  Greatly appreciated your input & review!!

kazala - MWise17 is correct. If you use outside vendors, it is either $800 vendor fee which goes to AS, OR, stay for min. of 3 nights, which means you add them to your guest list. I just informed my WC that I will be using DJ Doremixx and Playa Weddings (videographer) and i have to pay $800 vendor fee for both of them, so total $1,600. As for my photographer, i am using Elizabeth Medina, and I am adding her to my guest list. The vendor fee is extremely high but I think worth it b/c there were such GREAT reviews on these vendors. Good luck!! One more thing...you should make sure this $800 vendor fee does not increase in 2013!

Crikey! $800 for each!! And very good point about 2013 prices going up. I hope they dont try and plant that on me, if I book at current prices I will be flat refusing to pay any extra!!! Am happy to pay it for Ivan Luckie, I love his work, but I think I'll maybe look at a hotel DJ because the music isnt so important, as long as we can dance to it we really dont care lol

Thanks for the info ladies, the menu's look good, I'm impressed.

Once I'm booked, does the wedding co-ordinator send thru photos of the different locations within the hotel that are available for the reception? I've read a lot of reviews that seem to go with Zavas plaza but I'm not sure I want there. Sorry for all the questions and thanx for all your help jiggy.gif

Oh, and the dress, maggie sottero Geneva, its got quite a big train and am not sure its suitable for getting married in the heat but I dont bloomin care coz I love it :D

Hi Kazala!

You must be so excited to get booked!! Are you booking with Thomson?? I booked with them so any questions ask away! Ive booked a private reception, you pay the extra for the meal, ive picked the pick and choose menu where I pick the starter and dessert and then the guests get a choice of two main meals.. The price also includes a 4 hour international bar too which I think is really good, it has all the top brands like Smirnoff, Jack Daniels etc.. If you on facebook add me as im not on here as much as facebook lol - Im Jenna 'Bear' Barroccu.. you can message me any questions then! I have a massive folder on my computer with all wedding stuff so anything you need let me know msnparty.gif xxxx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
