Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I just got back from my "rehersal" visit at El Dorado Casitas (honeymoon location) and Azul Sensatori!!! We had a wonderful time!! I am literally just starting my detail sheet.  I feel like this is going to be a long year of preparation... I hope all the early October and late Septemeber brides had a great time!!

Any one have suggestions for a song other then the wedding march??? I am not the most traditional bride and that song just does not seem to fit for me...

Any suggestions?

Also has any one done an ipod set up at wedding? How did it go with out having a dj/ mc?

Happy Planning Brides!!!

xoxo

I was just there and the american dollar was accepted everywhere. I  even did day trips in Cancun and Playa Del Carmen and I used dollars without an issue.

Safe travels..

My travel agent said some of the resorts in Mexico are not accepting American Dollars anymore!?  I don't know how to find out if Azul is one of them, as I was planning to bring down American with me!  (they said the will accept CC but I had a bad experience with that in the Dominican)....

They will accept Pesos....recently traveled there ladies...could you use your American Dollars on the resort?

Hi Ladies:

My name is Caroline (from NYC) and I'm actually in the process of trying to decide which hotel I will choose for my wedding! I'm actually going to be at Riviera Maya the week of November 1 with my fiance woot.gifand will be visiting both Azul hotels (Azul Sensatori & Azul Beach). They are at the top of my list!!  Does anyone know how far these hotels are from each other??????

I'm trying to coordinate my site visits and am wondering if I can visit both hotels in the same day, but am trying to figure out the driving distance between both.

Also, if anyone wants any pictures of specific things at these hotel, just let me know and I will do my best to try and get them for you while I'm there.

The only thing I would suggest is making sure there is enough time to get photos with you and your wedding party on the beach if that is important to you.  My bridal twin, Shani, got married 2 hours after we did, so we had to get out of the way so they could set up for her wedding.  There are no individual pics with me and each of my bridesmaids on the beach.  f.  We also do not have a large group picture with everyone that attended the wedding.  We had that shot for our welcome party, and I liked it a lot.  Just some thoughts.  Like I said before though, Ivan is a very nice man, and I am sure he will make all of your dreams come true.  You are going to have a great wedding and best wishes for a wonderful life together.

Thank you...it was hard to enjoy, we went straight back to work (I am still here)..lol!

BUT...it was super simple and cute...they kept is super low key(how we wanted).

We can't wait to do the real thing ... its creeping up!  YIKES

They are about a 10 minute walk apart on the beach, or 5 minute drive. So you will be able to see them both in a morning!

*Just a warning if you plan on walking there is a nude resort in between!  embarrest.gif

My husband walked down to "Feeling Good" by MUSE, and I walked down to "Wild Horses" (artist escapes me right now...) We are very non-traditional as well :) (Try Ron Wood- some beautiful songs)

Ipod set up was super simple. We just made a playlist for each thing we needed the WC to play music for: ie. guests arriving, groomsmen walking in, bridesmaids, signing of registry, etc. Then they just played the songs at the appropriate time. We also made a playlist for dinner music and dancing music. Worked great!

It's been a few months since I've had the time to get on here and read the updates.

Congrats to all of the September and October brides!!!  Hard to believe that my wedding is less than 6 months away now and that we've been planning for almost a year!

We booked the sky deck this week, after much contemplation.  Our wedding group will be small, 15-20 at most so we can't have the pier location on the beach.  We would have the smaller gazebo that's in the middle of the beach.  The beach beds and chairs seem to be pretty close to the gazebo (I wasn't too thrilled over it).  We're not doing a reception at home afterwards so we want to make the ceremony as intimate and special as possible.

The other deciding factor was that I really want my grandparents to see the ceremony, my grandfather can't fly because of medical reasons so my cousin has said that he will set up a computer for them to be able to watch :)

Sky deck brides-what was the live feed like?  Were family and friends able to get a good picture and connection?

Hi Jennaba3

Have a few questions about Thomsons, have you done a group booking and did they give you a good group discount. I've spoken to them and they reckon a group booking should give an £85-£100 pp discount but they cant quote me exactly as the 2012/2013 brochure prices arent out yet. And if you have done a group booking, do you know if they charge you if one of your party doesnt pay or pulls out at last minute? Some of my party are looking at flying virgin & booking direct with the hotel, and Im not sure this is the best option for them.

Also, have Thomsons given you extra baggage allowance for your wedding dress? I always thought I wanted a simple wedding dress, but now Ive started looking, the ones I like are geting bigger and bigger lol xxxx

Hello

i am getting Married at Azul Nov 9, 2012! to answer your question you have to get a photographer and videographer seperately. the resort supplies two different photographers for a fee. you can also bring your own.

Is there anyone who is bringing a photographer on nov 5-12 2012 ? It might be nice for the photographer to work twice while he/she is in mexico! I dont love the resorts provided photographers. The added $800 dollars to bring in an additional photography is a little over the top.

Thank you all the brides and brides to be for your great advice... its very helpful in this planning process!! and Congrats to all of you!

We threw a 2 hour cocktail party before our private reception.  Ivan and Mike took us to various locations around the resort for those 2 hours taking pics and video, we just did not have enough time on the beach.  There are a lot of cool places around the resort though.  If you are going to have a 2 hour cocktail party before your reception, it is a good idea to ask your wedding coordinator to have someone bring you some horse devours from your cocktail hour.  We did not think of this and we were starving by the time we got to the reception.  We had Cancun Wedding Video for 4 hours and Ivan Luckie for 5 or 6 (I think it was 6).  Because our events were from 3:30p to 10p we did some things really early at the reception to make sure we had video and pictures.  Upon our entrance we went right into our first dance.  My husband and I went from the first dance straight to the father/daughter and mother/son dance, and we did it at the same time to Celene Dion's Because You Loved Me as that saved time and moved things along too.  We also did the cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss earlier than the norm because we wanted pics of those events.  Honestly, I don't think we had any photography the last hour or so of the reception, but we were ok with that.

What a crazy few weeks! I can't believe I leave for Mexico on Wednesday morning!! The wedding is days away, it's all so surreal. We're doing our legal ceremony tomorrow with both sets of parents, my sister and grandma who can't fly to Mexico. Chris (FI) is really excited, calling me his wife and can't wait to wear his ring for a few days. I'm a little more casual about it, really, our wedding is on the 22nd!!!! It is part of the process though so I am happy about it :). I will report back to all of you about how everything goes, I know it will be amazing! Our week at a glance:

Wednesday - arrive with 30+ of our guests (direct flight on Virgin from SFO - CUN)

Thursday - meet with DJ at 10am, meet with coordinators at 11am, a couple free hours, hair and makeup trial at 3:30pm, welcome WHITE party from 5pm - 7pm w/ bar and appetizers and the slideshow we worked on for 8 months!!!

Friday - pool day :), rehearsal (we'll do it on our own if coordinators can't do it with us) at 5:15pm, leave for our rehearsal dinner in Playa del Carmen w/ 25 guests at 6pm

Saturday - wedding day!!!!! I'll have breakfast with the girls, then head to the spa for my treatments at 11:30am. I should be done by 2:15pm. I get dressed at 3:15pm, have our "first look" at 3:45pm, ceremony at 4:30pm on the sky deck, reception to follow until 10:30pm at Zavas Plaza. After party until who knows when!!!!

Sunday - brunch at Zavaz restaurant at 11am, snorkeling trip from 1:30pm - 6:00pm, dinner on the beach for just the two of us, we may or may not cancel to be with friends and family still at resort, we'll see how we feel!

Monday - breakfast in bed :)

Tuesday - day trip to Tulum (about 12 of us)

Wednesday - the last of our friends and family leave (about 18) - Chris and I depart for The Tides. We meet up with our friends who are getting married the day before us in Playa for a night of celebrating

Thursday - Saturday - Mini-moon

I know I won't be ready to leave!!!!!! Full report when I return!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
