Hello Melissa, my wedding triplet!  Shani and I married the men of our dreams at AS the same day that you married the man of your dreams at AB.  You looked stunning and your video is beautiful.  The water was much bluer at your resort than at ours!  I used Cancun Wedding Video because they were a preferred vendor at our resort.  Playa Weddings did a great job at yours.  Were they a preferred vendor?

sweet!   they look great, I can imagine they are time consuming, but a nice touch that you did them yourself! :)

I just bought a grommet setter to do some tags for our welcome bags and the pashminas....haven't tried to use it yet, hope its easy enough.

Are you working on any other DIY projects?

:)

I'm originally from N.O. but hadn't been home in a couple years so i was happy to have my shower and bachelorette party there. it was good to catch up with some old friends and family.

Hi Ladies,

Im new to the site, been following it for a while though! Some great advice on here..

My wedding is 6th September 2012 at Azul Sensatori.. Could someone add me to the list please? :)

Im a UK bride, theres 37 of us booked so far.. Very happy! When I confirmed my wedding time, I didnt think the ceremony would be over that quick! My Miami WC said it only lasts about 20 mins! Im a little concerned now.. Can anyone look over my timescale for me and see if they think its ok please?

Ceremony at 1.30pm

Cocktail Party 3pm - 5pm

Private Reception 5pm - 9pm

I wouldnt mind having my reception run until 10pm.. Does anyone know if I can extend it by an hour for an additional cost?

Any help would be appreciated rolleyes.gif

Welcome!

It's 9 dollars more per person to extend by one hour.  Everything else looks great!

Happy planning!

Ah thats not too bad.. Having it end at 10pm sounds alot better than it ending at 9pm.. Its not the international bar I mind ending then, its the private area and music.. I just wouldnt mind having the actual party going on a bit longer if you get me :) Also, im so new to all this.. Can anyone tell me when is a reasonable time to start looking at buying a dress and bridesmaid dresses etc? Im under a year away now and I have no clue when to start!! xxxx

Welcome! This site is wonderful for advice. I think the timeline looks good. The break in the afternoon will allow for you to get some photographs and then join up with your guests again.

I'm not sure how it works in the UK, but often in Canada/US it takes 4-6 months to order a dress. I would suggest just calling a wedding dress store and see what their delivery times are. You can always buy off the rack dresses, but make sure to allow for a least 3-4 weeks for alterations.

As for bridesmaid dresses, I think usually it is 3-4 month delivery (if you are ordering from a bridal salon). But I know a lot of ladies that get married down south find other creative paths. Look at local stores for beautiful sundresses, have them made by a seamstress, etc.

Good luck!

Melissa - I LOVED your video!!!! I booked Paul too and I can't wait to see him work his magic :). I usually hate myself on video, hopefully he will change that. :)

I had my 2nd dress fitting appointment today and thank goodness it went better than the first fitting (I left NOT excited about the dress, but I'm a perfectionist and sometimes that's a curse). My sister and one of my BMs was there and they convinced me to buy a veil, they were obsessed with one I tried on. I never imagined wearing a veil (I'm wearing my hair mostly down) but it looks like I will be!

I can't believe I'm next on the list, we still have a ton to do of course. At one point I thought I was ahead of the game...!??!

I'm so happy for all the new brides on the forum - I'm seeing a lot of 2012 dates, wild!! It'll come fast guys, enjoy every second you can!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
