Well to start with all you ladies getting married at Sensatori you are very lucky ladies, the resort is absoultly amazing and the staff are great.

We got upgraded to the Honeymoon suite on our 3rd day as they had allocated us the wrong room, the Thomsons staff were great there. Our room was 4332 and we had a lovely view of the beach so I got to watch alot of weddings before ours. We had our blood tests at 9am the day after our arrival then another meeting at 1pm. We were gutted as we had to change our witnesses as they needed to send our info of before our original witnesses arrived even though my OS WC had said it was fine. Our wedding was the only wedding on our date which was great as on some days there was 3/4 weddings a day. After watching some other weddings we decided to move ours from the beach to the rooftop. Our reasons were because the beach was quite small and you had alot of random walkers by who didnt care if a wedding was going on and people all stood up the top watching (if you get married on the beach ask them to make sure the top is clear for you or you'll end up with the spectators in your photos) where as the roof was totally private even though it did cost us an extra £1000 eek.gif. We then kept changing our reception from the Zavaz Plaza to the beach then back to the Zavaz Plaza.

The day before I had my acrylic nails done in the salon, this was lovely a bit of time on my own. The morning of the wedding my bridesmaids and me went for champagne breakfast together in Spoons, this was a nice start to the day. Then at 11am my mum and I went to the spa, my mum had a manicure (included in my package) and I had a pedicure, hair and makeup done. I didnt have my hair or make up trial as I didnt want to stress if i didnt like it and I totally didnt need to worry. They had books of different hair styles and I took my tiara and diamonte pins with me. At midday my bridesmaids came and joined me in the spa they used the Bridal suite to get ready in, where they done their own hair and make up, they loved the all getting ready together and of course we had more champagne. Also they were able to use their hair sprays and one of my bridesmaids had a black eye (long story) and the spa lady covered it up properly for her. They left me at 1:45 and went back to mine to order room service. I got back at 2pm and went mad as my room had still not been cleaned and I had called them at 9am to tell them I had a photographer coming at 2:30. My mum came and started getting me in my dress and the photographer arrived, 2:50 the girls were out on the balcony having room service yep I was meant to be getthing married at 3pm there was no way i was going to be on time!! Well after a mad rush and my mum rushing back to get herself ready, photos on the balcony we left my room at 3:15. I then had to walk through the pool area with everyone cheering, clapping and taking photos the nerves started to kick in. When I got to the roof the bridesmaids and pageboys music started (Take That Greatest Day) and the tears started aswell, I started to cry uncontrollably, my girls left me with tears in their eyes and then it was just me & my dad and my music started (Bruno Mars Just the way you are) desperatley trying to stop crying we made our way down the aisle, as soon as i saw Jay beaming I couldnt stop smiling. The service was performed in spanish and translated into english this was lovely, we then had a Sand Ceremony which Harry & Hollie joined us in. The whole thing was shown on a weblink aswell which some of our friends got to see (we also got a copy on dvd as we asked for it). We then had some photos on the roof before going down to the beach for more photos. On the way to the beach my son stood on my dress and ripped my dress, my mum quickly tucked it all up (good old mum). We then went to the mexican bar and had a drink before heading to the Zavaz Plaza area for our reception. We decorated the tables with pink scatter crystals, maracas, then i had vases with pink water beadsin and the bridesmaids bouquets, I had pink light up ballons hanging around the pergola it looked lovely. we went for the Family Style dinner and wow it was amazing and so much of it. We had DJ Doremixx he was fantastic, and the balloons, masks and glow sticks he gives out went down a treat. He had everyone up dancing all night long, I didn't want the day to end! Our first dance we did a evolution dance, we started off with Savage Gardens 'I knew I loved you before I met you' then broke into various funny songs (kung fu fighter, ymca, mc hammer etc) this went down a treat erveryone laughed so much.smile29.gif The staff were great, they remembered everyones drinks and made sure they had a refill as soon as they had finished, they brought us various shot throughout the night. After it had finished alot of us went up to the Mojito Bar and carried on dancing and drinking. One word for the whole day 'Excellente'. I will put some photos on but if you want to see more add me one facebook Michelle Herbert, and if you want to ask anything ask away.

Ladies...

I am getting nervous about pulling off that we are getting legally married (we are getting married here before heading down)...and Chris accidentally said to his mom "well, we don't know if we are going to do it there, or just do it here.." I was so upset.  So now she keeps hinting at "are you, aren't you" and I am sticking to my no-one-will-know plan, but because he said something, and she knows all about the needles we should be getting done to make it legal there/witness signing etc. I am getting worried she or others will ask - so where did they give you the needle-why didn't you sign anything at your ceremony........etc. etc.

?????????????

Is it for sure we don't sign anything?  what are the differences between the ceremonies??     fryingpan.gif (me hitting Chris...LOL)

Hi Mwise.  I understand your being upset.  I doubt that many people will know the difference in the two ceremonies unless they know the legal requirements in Mexico. We had the legal ceremony.  They drew our blood the morning after our arrival in the wedding coordinators office and we never saw the judge until we arrived at the gazebo.  As for the legal ceremony, all of the legal parts are in the beginning.  You both give your fingerprints, then the witnesses sign, the sand ceremony, and the vows.  You could "design" a marriage ceremony certificate and incorporate it into a symbolic wedding.  I seriously doubt they wouldn't let you do that, as you can pretty much do what you want for a symbolic ceremony.  Also, if you go to vimeo.com and then put in "Azul Sensatori" under the search part, you can see the differences in legal vs. symbolic ceremonies.  Keep your head up!  Everything will work out fine!

Men.....LOL! We did the symbolic and after saying our vows we signed a 'wedding certificate' (I will email you a photo of it). The only difference would be the fingerprint and the sand ceremony. But the sand ceremony has nothing to do with making it legal. And the fingerprint thing is a Mexico thing, so unless your guests expect it, they will be none the wiser! As for Chris's mom, I would politely pull her over and ask her to please stop asking because it is adding stress and that she should not worry about it! I would also make sure you advise her politely to keep her mouth shut about it to other family and guests! Or make Chris do it, since he started it! LOL

And I would just for show bring 2 bandaids to Mexico, and once you are done your meeting with the WC, you and Chris can put bandaids on your arms to keep up the story of have bloodwork done. (I can be sneaky when needed wink.gif) Then when you walk back down to see your family and guests (and Chris's mom) they will assume you had the needle.

It will all work out in the end! hug2.gif

Thank you!  I just might do that (bring my own certificate) and have our "witness'" sign...that, after reading what you lovely ladies wrote, is my only concern.

:)

:)

Thanks x 10

Yes, MEN!  lol

That is SO funny, I just emailed you and said I am going to wear a bandaid so those that know about the needle won't suspect we didn't get one!

:)  We are TOTALLY sneaky!  lol!!!!!

I played totally dumb when Chris' mom asked....and said what???  he is crazy, we were talking about that SO long ago, and decided that we want to do the full legal wedding there, she seemed to buy it, but keeps making "cracks" aka snooping to see our reactions about us doing it here first.  I am not going to say anything until needed, one more crack and it might be her last!  hahahhahahhahah

Thanks so much....and for emailing me the certificate, I can make my own and pretty much copy that one if I want.

:)

I never even got that option, my WC told me that I have to chose the same entree for everyone??

Can you send out emails to your guests? Maybe almost like an e-invite/or e-card, so that it gets out sooner? And they them to RSVP like ASAP? Big piece of advice, add at the bottom, "if I do not get your response by September 1 (?), you will automatically receive meal choice A." Then you are not waiting for people to reply and you can tell your WC the numbers promptly on that date.

Ok, here is my advice. First, let your WC both on site and not that you want your ceremony to look AS LEGAL AS POSSIBLE! THis is what we are doing, meaning we don't want ANYONE to know that we aren't getting legally married there. We are signing the marriage certificate down there. Tell his mom that you are keeping those details between the two of you and that you are CELEBRATING your wedding down in Mexico. I would just explain to her that you haven't made up your mind yet and that you will most likely do everything do there, then change the subject lol.

Just got back from my Bachelorette weekend in Vegas, pretty amazing! The weather was perfect and we all had such a great time. Here are a few highlight pics, trust me you don't want to see all of them hahaha. First night we got a little too drunk, who doesn't on their bachelorette party and made it to marquee club for like 30 mins! Haha but made up for it the second night at Vanity danced the night away until 5am! Priceless woot.gif

I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
