I would not go much larger, they become difficult to pack flat in your suitcase if they are much wider (unless you have a gigantic suitcase LOL)

JasmineRice, you are such a sweetheart. If you have any questions at all throughout the process, never hesitate to ask for help/advice/suggestions from me (and I'm sure everyone else who is currently planning feels the same way :) This really is such a helpful forum and I hope to not only bring advice/suggestions for jewelry but any feedback from my own personal experiences of having such an unforgettable wedding. Yours will be amazing and you're completely on the right track about how you're feeling/thinking about it. Many of my own friends and family weren't able to attend, but I'll echo it again...the ones who were there were the ones who were meant to be there. For whatever reason, it always works out. Even through the stresses/ups and downs (trust me, there will be more ups), it ends up turning out even better than you could have ever imaged. It sounds like you and your fiance have both had trying times and deserve to do what makes the both of YOU happy. Everything and everyone else will fall into place. I promise :) XOXOXO

My FI and I really hemmed and hawed about whether to go with a destination wedding. It has been our dream since we started talking marriage and even more important since it is a second joyful wedding for both of us (after both going through painful divorces with unfaithful spouses). So this is something we've always wanted to do. But some family and friends really started to put pressure on us to not have a destination wedding and we had to think hard about the possibility that only a handful might be able to attend. The fact that I have just read your encouraging comments, Justine and Bondgirl, right as I land on this page, are to me a sign from the good Lord that we are on the right track by sticking to our initial planslalala.gif So Azul Sensatori....here we come!

I look forward to sharing and learning from all here!

Thanks for the idea Kerry :) I totally agree I have been shocked by how much Karisma charge for the cakes. We are still unsure what to do about the cake, greatful for the idea x

Of all the reviews I have read, Cakes don't seem to be a strong point at karisma.  They are also crazy expensive and most people have said that not a lot of people even ate them.  So here is what I did.  When I chose my menu, I did the pick two dinner menu, but for desert, I'm having a lunch option of tres leches cake, which is a great mexican cake.  My FI and I are getting a 20 dollar cake for us, that we will cut, but that way, there still is cake!

Ladies... 25 Days to go! This is crazy, I just now decided to do welcome bags... I know I'm insane! Origianlly didn't want to do it because not everyone was staying at the resort, now it looks like the majority of people are. Going to include: kookie, chap stick, spanish for dummies travel edition and maybe a small bottle of water (not sure on the last one). Also, we have decided to do beach olympics on the Saturday before our wedding, we are both very competitive and athletic, as are most of our guests. I think this will be a fun way for everyone to get to know each other and have fun in the sun!

PS - if you ask your onsite wedding coordinator, they should be able to arrange beach olympics for a private group for like $100! It's awesome :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
