Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

My parents are Exotic members, and our group actually opted for the friends in paradise program.  Hard to beat 50% off!  We got some other perks as well, people could do an upgrade for $100 for the week, and it also included choice of couples massage or a dinner on the beach.  We debated, because my parents bought more weeks than they'll ever use, but in the end, everyone went the friends in paradise route with the knowledge that they'd be sitting through the presentation.

On the other hand, if any one is interested in joining Exotic, I can set you up for 50% off through friends-in-paradise...but you would have to sit through a 90 minute presentation, so I wouldnt recommend it unless you are really interested in joining.

Has anyone that is divorced traveled with their children to Mexico?  I just found something that we may be required to have a notarized letter signed by the non-custodial parent, allowing us to take the children out of the country.  We've got passports for them, but this seems to be an additional requirement.  Freaking out just a bit, as we leave a week from Saturday!

Advice!!!

Dinner:  I am having the private event plated dinner.  How long does this dinner service take?

Do you just have your speeches etc. in and around the dinner?  Is that normal practice these days?

The reason I ask (need advice here), is that I have decided to do the white board guest book, and am trying to decide if I do it at the cocktail hour and have bestman/maid of honor go around and take the pic etc. OR do it after dinner with my photographer...but I only have him for 6 hours - dinner is at 7pm - he is gone at 9pm.....and don't want people getting up/feeling like they have to go over to do pic etc. with him during dinner.  ????

but if we have him do it during dinner, we can have props etc. and it can be a kind of photo-booth at the same time???  HELP.

:)

I don't but my sister does.  Definitely recommend having a letter from the non-custodial parent giving permission, it really depends on who you get at the check in counter at the airport as to whether or not they actually ask for the letter.  But better to be safe than sorry.  I would check with your travel agent to see what exactly you need.

When we went to Mexico this year we saw a family that was denied boarding because they did not have the letter and it was not pretty.

Thank goodness for these posts about the different beach locations!! Although our wedding is still far enough away (April) that it has already been corrected, I would have been devastated if we arrived and were disapointed.  After reading the posts I checked our detail sheet, then google the name of our wedding location and realized that we weren't even booked on the beach, we were booked at the gazebo by the pool.  I just assumed that we were on the beach.  Our WC Erika, has already corrected this, but we can't be at the pier gazebo because it's for larger weddings (40 plus) so we opted for the beach gazebo closer to the premium section.

I love this forum!!!!!!

There are maximum 2 weddings a day, but from my understanding no limit on private events (ie. other cocktail parties, welcome parties, etc.) So you should also reserve your reception area. If you need pictures I am sure I can find some.

We made a small booklet with a map, and then I highlighted where the ceremony and reception sites were. Plus the resort is really not the big, so it wouldn't be hard to find! If you look at my planning thread I included the template for the welcome book, and the map should be in there. I just used Photoshop to add in the colored dots. (if you want the original map I am sure I still have it in my files and can forward it to you)

Anyway the 3 beach locations: 1) the gazebo by the pier; 2) the yoga gazebo, which is nice if you have a really large wedding party since they would all fit under the gazebo, or if your whole wedding is small, since everyone could fit; 2) another small gazebo, closer to the premium section.

P4050221.JPGThis is the gazebo close to the premium section. It's a little smaller than the one by the pier, and has wood across the top.

PA180050.JPGPA180051.JPGThese two photos are of the yoga gazebo. They can place chairs on the platform or on the sand around. There is a stone ramp about 20 yards away.

PA180054.JPGThe gazebo by the pier. The large wooden ramp is just behind and to the left. (I could swear I had a picture somewhere ....if I find it I will post it later)

Ladies I need help with a couple things....

Any bride that got married up on the Sky Deck know how long it takes to walk down the aisle? I am looking into music and need to know how many songs to have being played.

How many light strands / paper lanterns are needed for the Zavas Terrace area for the reception?

How do the lights work that are put inside of them?

Anyone have a music list I can look at, I feel like I don't have that many songs choosen and I would love to look at someone's list for inspiration.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
