I was hoping that someone who has already had their wedding or been for a site visit, can put me at ease.  I had planned to have my reception at Zavas Plaza, but unfortunately, it never got reserved and is being used by another bride.  As I don't want the wedding on the beach and or completely inside, my wedding coordinator has reserved Zavas Terrace instead.  I have about 70 guests attending and she has assured me that this space will accommodate all, including a dance floor.  Any observations you have about this location for a reception would be appreciated.  I'm also not crazy about the color scheme (yellow and red) and have heard mixed reviews that there is little or no breeze.  I'll take all the good and the bad, so don't hold back.  I would prefer to be prepared and not completely disappointed.  Am I over thinking the negatives of this location?

If you're thinking red/yellow, I think you might mean Zoloco Terrace, and I was told it fits maximum 40 people.

If it's Zavas Terrace, there is really no color scheme. It's the front section of the premium pool area on stone. (if you look at the map, it's just beside the Zavas restaurant over a bridge. It's breezy because it's right beside the walk to the beach. We had a cocktail reception there for 63 guests and there was plenty of room. I think this will be a pretty place for a reception. Only thing to keep in mind, there is really no where for you to hang decorations in this location....so plan for items on the tables or something that can stand on it's own. Here are a few photos...hope that helps.

We just booked our honeymoon at Be Tulum in Tulum about an hour South of PDC. I have been there a few times - best beaches in the Mayan Riviera, a lot more intimate as there are only a few cabana hotels and no monsters - VERY ROMANTIC and a real feel of Mexico.  I hear Mezzanine on that same strip is also great and is more affordable but I went for the splurge as I am hoping I will only have to do this once! :)  That is unless we do the renewal ceremonies like Seal & Heidi Klum ;)

Videographer advice please!

Bryteyed Bride - CONGRATS, great photo of you on the Beach.

Mel and Bryteeyed Bride, I am waiting with baited breath to hear how things went.

I am having a really hard time picking vendors as Lomas is being really picky with whom they will allow in and I have spoken to several vendors who are complaining about ow Lomas is strong arming them into either high commissions, which forces them to raise their prices or locking them out.  Supposedly this happened with the Barcelo & Bahia Principe a while back and they suffered the consequences.

Bryteyedbride - how was Caribe Video?  I am really torn about who to hire for videography - there are very few posts about videographers - can someone who had a successful videography experience please weigh in? Magic Vision has no demos on their site and Cancun Video doesn't have anything recent from AS or AB...

Mel - I thought that Karisma banned La Luna as they are part of Del Sol, is this not the case?  If I can't get La Luna, I am thinking of Juan Navarro or Claudia for pics...Any thoughts?

Thanks!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
