Hey Murmel,

Thanks so much, your the best!

I know right? Its so hard to pass on the info. without sounding pushy...thats how I feel when I am talking to them anyway, but they just don't get it!

If any of them stick to their guns, I'll def. have them email you!!!  ;)

As for the marrying in T.O., how much does it cost with papers etc. to do it at city hall vs. having them come to you?  $300 sounds like a deal to me!

The more I think about it, if I can keep my big mouth shut, no one will know the difference, and we will do it here, and it seems like everything else will be a bit easier in regards to the papers/ceremony stuff.....and Chris hates needles, he would probably want to do it this way too.

(I guess I should check with him eh?)  lol

And the likely hood of them getting a better price is slim to none! (show them the room rates off the Azul website, then they'll really think it's a steal!) If you want, tell your friends to contact me, I 'll confirm for them that they should not wait. We had to to actually confirm with the hotel when we got there that none of our guests would be sent to other hotels because they were over booked!

If you want to do a legal ceremony in the Toronto area, there are actually judges that will come out to your house and do it for you. (i think it was about $300, included the paperwork). I am sure I can dig up the name if you want it. That way no one has to know. And other than my MOH, my sister, the best man and husband's parents NO ONE knows we got legally married at home. The ceremony sounded so good in Mexico, that no one was the wiser. The lady/minister that did our ceremony was lovely. And yes, she had an accent, but it was no problem to understand her. The only tip off is that you don't do the fingerprinting (which you  have to do for the legal ceremony), and just the couple and minister sign the documents, no witnesses.

It seemed to me, that they offer this bonfire party, but rarely ever do it. So when they actually have to do it, it's sort of thrown together.

I will dig out my papers and see if I can find her name. We did not see a script at all... My husband met her about an hour before the ceremony to find out what was happening. I didn't want my husband to see me til I walked down the aisle, so a girlfriend of mine went to the meeting and passed on the info to me. Basically the minister did a little intro, then went straight into 'repeat after me', then we inserted our own vows, ring exchange, signing the certificate, announcing we were husband and wife!

Not a restaurant. It's the main lobby. You can do pictures there, but no receptions.

This was the service we had planned on using.  http://www.kcwgta.com/elopement.htm There is another judge as well, I will dig through my paper work and see if I still have the contact info. I wish I could tell you the true cost in Toronto, but we ended up in Newfoundland to do our legal ceremony (that's where the nursing home my Mom resides in). It cost us $50 for paperwork, $250 for the judge, and then $40 for the province to send me the actual legal certificate after. My guess it should be about the same here. And trust me, unless you tell someone, no one will know! And a bonus about having to not deal with the needles! (I hate them too!)

I will def. look into city hall vs. this way.  Sounds like it might be the route we end up taking.  Were you nervous not really knowing what was going to be read exactly at the ceremony?  they don't tell you what the script is before hand?

:)

Hey girls, Im still in Mexico but wanted to drop in and say hi!  Our wedding was beautiful.  A full review will be written some time on Friday.  We do have a website up but it doesnt have the best pics up yet.  Maybe on Sunday more people will have posted, and I will share the link.  I will say the beach ceremony was very windy though which made it difficult for good pics and what not, but overall the day was great, and the vacation is one to be cherished forever!  Happy wedding day to Marcella, and then to Jaime tomorrow!  I got the chance to meet Jaime.  She has been such a great help during this planning!!  What a sweetheart!!  TTYS girls!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
