Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Girls, I am getting so excited!!!  I have a massage appointment tomorrow after work which is much needed at this point!!  I am also having an eye treatment done, which if it helps my eyes, that would be a miracle.  I have awful allergies and due to bad shot reactions over the past year, the puffy eyes have gotten to be quite bad.  :(  I've looked into a lot of different ways to fix it but no luck just yet. So, fingers crossed!  I had a very productive night tonight.  FI is working, so I packed up the duffel with all the OOT contents, sashes and more, and also got some house cleaning done.  Next Friday is my legal day!!  So I will be officially married.  I think in some ways it's still surreal, even after all the planning.  Just think, this time 2 weeks, I will be drinking mojitos at AS!!  :)

It looks like you had a great Master's Weekend Bachelorette Party.  I'm having my bridal portrait until after our wedding too.

I decided to push back my bridal portrait I had scheduled for this weekend till after the wedding so that Jay can get pics with me and the dogs and to tell you the truth I feel better having it off my plate.

Next stop if to get a time in Houston to get "legally" married

Jaime it will probably be cheaper once you get there.  I paid $8 per cupcake, but reading through the forum others paid less. I think it was something like $6.  I am hoping we can add anything we want once we get there.  I think I need some of those luminaries around pool deck 4 for my welcome party, and I did not put it on my detail sheet.

Welcome back my bridal twin.  Hope to catch up with you next week!  I'm hoping someone advises on the tipping for the private events.

Quick question for you past brides - How much cash did you take with you to AS and was it ample?  If not, how much to you suggest grand total for set up fees, tipping, misc, etc???  Thank you and I hope everyone has been well!

I think it is a great idea.  I also like the square tables that I have seen either from my WC or on the facebook website for Karisma Resorts.  I can't remember which.

Congrats on being a Mrs!  Great video.  How many hours did your friend video?   We downgraded from the full day of video to 5 hours because we needed to cut some cos and I'm worried we are going to miss some important things (first dance, cutting cake).  We did add a highlights video.

I hope you enjoy your massage tomorrow.  I was so mentally exhausted from wedding planning that I fell asleep during mine last week.  Good luck with the eye treatment, I am having the EXACT same problems with my allergies here in VA.

Loved your video and pictures too!  I talked to your Mom through facebook and she told me what an amazing wedding you had!  You were a beautiful bride!  Congrats!  My daughter is getting married at Azul Beach on May 28, 2011 and we can hardly wait!  It is an amazing resort.  We are having  the family style dinner on the Blue Terrace for 50 people.  Now we are trying to find a makeup person and I think we are booking Doranna for hair.

Good question! Does anyone have a floorplan or layout for how they set up the tables (and buffets, and dj, and cake table, etc)? It'd be great to see!

Our tables were done in a circular manner around the gazebo in Zavas Plaza. Which was really nice, since that left the 'dance area' open under the gazebo.

Does anyone know how you can get around the $60.00 per bottle charge for champagne,  This sounds extremely high.  Do they deliver bottles of champagne to your room if you want it in bottles?

I know we always had a bottle of sparkling wine in our room. No idea about champagne. We had the waiters serve our guests mojoitos instead! Thought it was a little more fun :)

Plan on taking about $150-200 cash for set up fees (if you are bringing any of your own decorations). We likely spent about an average of $20 a day on tipping (but that's really a personal choice). And take lots of SMALL bills....the front desk very rarely has small bills, and it's nice to be able to leave $2-3 for the maid, couple bucks for the lunch waiter, etc.

We saw a smaller wedding use a square table. It looked so nice, I think it was for 12 people, (3 seats each side), but I am sure 16 would work well.

So excited for you! Keeping my fingers crossed the eye treatment helps. Best wishes for the upcoming nuptials.

Maggie- love the golf theme! So much fun!

Hi girls! I went on Youtube and searched Azul Sensatori Wedding and there is a VIDEO of the Zavras Plaza. It gives a pretty good view of the set up and you can see how much room you have and all. After all my searching a looking at pictures and videos I feel like Ive been there already hahaha. I am in the process of making my guest list and finding it really hard to do. Keep procrastinationg. Any ideas on the invitations? I love the linen ones I saw on this site that someone actually made, they are just gorgeous. So I bought a few things to try a make that and let me tell you....i am so ordering them...im pretty creative but that is just waay too much headache. I also love the passport ones Ive seen. Where did most of you get your invitations? I ordered a couple of samples form weddingpaperdivas.com. But they all seem so generic. Wish I could get the passport ones made.   dh

I did the passport style and just got them made.  I am in Toronto so dealt on-line with www.branchvillestudio.com, meaghan is amazing and I just sent my invitations out on Monday (did you hear that ladies....WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO)...I tried to post them on here, but it didn't work, not sure if its because of my status, but Meaghan posted them on her site.  I am in New Orleans for work right now (amazing city), and my phone is going crazy with texts from all my friends/family complimenting me on how amazing our invitations are, best they've ever seen...etc.

Check them out see what you think (they are green passports for Melissa & Chris)

:)

She also designed our logo (my profile pic)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
