Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Maggie....Ours is a private event too and our wedding coordinator told us menu cards were included and that my daughter could send them her logo and they would print it on the menu card.  I wish they would get things straight.  We were also quoted $65 for steaming the dress and you were quoted $50!!

That is interesting! I already paid for my menu cards from etsy and love them so I am cool with it!

Look at my pictures. I have a bunch of the locations for receptions in there that my WC sent me.

Does anyone else know?

Sound like you and I have about the same amount of people and I have a little less stuff to put out. I only have Table numbers, guest book, menu cards, laterns and Xmas lights. I will prepare for $150 and see what we can neogiate! Thanks for the heads up!!!

I really don't think it is a consistent number Maggie. First thing you have to know is that it is being done "under the table" so to speak. The WC are putting the money directly into the pockets of the workers or themselves. Management does not see a cent....hence why it is CASH only! Best thing I can tell you is to likely plan on somewhere between $75-$200, this all depends on 1) who your WC is; 2) amount of items, lights, things they have to set up (ie. the more stuff, the more it will cost you); 3) the number of table/guests you have. We had 63 guests and had paper laterns, centerpieces, menu cards, napkin wraps, name cards, table seating charts, candles (which don't bother doing...since it's way too windy), and stuff for the kids table (coloring books, crayons, toys)...and it cost us $120.

Hi Ladies! This weekend I have a big DYI weekend with my best friend. We are getting everything organized for the OOT bags!

I really don't have too much left to do for the big day:

1. Menu Cards for the tables at my Welcome Party

2. Nail down the rest of the reception and Welcome party music and start getting it loaded on the IPOD

3. Put together one OOT bag and make sure we have everything

4. Get our gifts for the parents

5. Write up the games for the Welcome party (We are doing beer pong, flip cup, it's like one of those old school beach party we went to in college)

6. Get our Marriage license

7. Get legally married here in the states

8. Go for my now final fitting

9. Get my bridal portrait done here in Houston

10. Philly Bachlorette next weekend!

I am sure will think of a dozen more things!

I just sent my deposit to reserve the date March 10th 2012!!! Yay!

I am using a destination wedding planning agency and they highly recommended Azul Sensatori. They said that they do a lot of wedding  there and have visited the resort themselves and their service was impeccable. The company is called Luxe Destination Weddings. They will deal with the WC there so I don't really have to make any long distance calls or worry about getting replies as well as collect money from people and bug them...weight off my chest.

Is anyone else using a wedding planner outside the resort?

Congrats to all the new brides! any 2012 brides out there?

Hi Popo - thanks for the info!

I am leaning that direction myself but I am trying to find a place where we can block 30-40 rooms (70-80 people) but still keep an intimate feel rather than feel like we are st Disneyworld...

FYI, I spoke to one of the WC that Sensatori uses in Miama, her name was Elizabeth Riff - seemed very honet and talked about the pros and cons quite openly.

She had not been to the resrots and was relying on her colleagues and customers for reviews but is going this week-end to check them all out.

My travel agent, whom I trust implicitly, has booked many people there and has heard nothing but great things - EXCEPT, there are no beachview rooms, rather a 5 minute walk to the beach from the "jungle", but if that doesn't bother you - everything else seems top notch.

My hesitation with Sensatori is that it is such a HUGE resort that I am worried that we will feel like we are on a production wedding belt, with one after the other...Elizabeth did confirm that it id not uncommon to have a wedding everyday of your visit - YOUCH!  I want it to at least feel intimate.

Another locale that my agent recommended was Dreams Tulum or Cancun (which is NOT in Cancun, don't worry).  My only complaint so far there, is that the food, to me, was well below what Sensatori offers - much less choice and more expensive.

FYI, I stayed at the Bahia Principe, about 8 years ago and simply fell in love with Tulum, the beaches, the people and the ruins...had the most amazing Scuba Diving experience as well.

Fellow sisters, please respond to my statements above if you have found anything different or better!!!

SO EXCITED :) Woo Hoo!!!

I posted a review of some of the resorts I visited in the area (dreams was one of them):

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/66306/my-puerto-morelos-site-visit-now-sapphire-now-jade-dreams-riviera-cancun-ceiba-del-mar-and-azul-sensatori-with-link-to-photos

I thought Azul Sensatori was one of the most "intimate" bigger resorts. I wanted something intimate too but my group was too big (30-40 rooms). Other "small" ones I considered were Ceiba del Mar, La Reve, Azul Beach and Zoetry. For various reasons, obviously they didn't work out.

GOod luck!

hi girls! My planner told me that most rooms are ocean view and looking at the pics, the way it is set up it seems that it's all facing the ocean. Maybe if you are on a lower level you dont see it much because you have the pools and everything in the way...i donno.  I was also told that for an all inclusive it's not a HUGE resort and does have a more intimate feel. I also have a friend who went there last year and says that she loved it.

I have a funny story to share:

So ive been in wedding planning mode for a while now so I guess im past the initial stage where you realize "OMG IM GONNA BE MARRIED!"

My FI on the other hand had this moment last night. I received the contracts and other paperwork form the resort. I needed my FI signature on one of the contracts. It was the funniest thing ever. He looked at the paper and it said "groom's signature" and he froze. He's like "Holy $%^&, thats me......" he was staring at he paper for what seemed like 10 minutes and about to sign but then he'd just make the signing movement in the air but couldnt bring himself to put the pen to paper. I was dieing of laughter. I guess I didn't realize that this was a big thing for him. I think he was sweating.

Well the contract is now signed so theres no turning back lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
