Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Thank you TLGnhci!! I figured it was something like that.

Can I get opinions on websites for great invitations but affordable? Did anyone make invites themselves?

My FI and I are thinking pocket invitations to include all the travel information, we are going to send out around 75 and I would like to keep the budget between 200-250 :)

Justiner57- I too am looking into the pocket fold invitations with travel info. Thankfully for me my fsil is very creative and we will be making the invitations. Check out some of the forums on here. Some of the ladies post how they make their invitations. Hopefully that helps :)

OK, I am starting to freak out a little bit with everything I have to do before my wedding in September. And I am also starting to freak out about the weather and it being "hurricane" season. My TA has assured me that 99% of the time the weather is fine and might rain for like an hour or so, but I don't see ANY other Brides booked for beginning of September. Am I crazy? I mean this was the only holiday weekend that worked for us and our families and now I'm thinking it might get ruined because of the weather?

Any Brides who've gotten married or visited the resort around Labor Day? What are your thoughts?

I was actually there this past labor day and the weather was perfectly fine.  The forecast said rain every single day, but I think it rained a total of one hour the whole week.  I think it got cloudy a few times, but they left as quick as they came in.

Regarding hurricane season, obviously there is no way to predict it, but the chances of one coming towards cancun at that exact time are pretty slim.  The gulf might get 3-4 hurricanes per season.  I think cancun felt the affects of 2 last year...but no major damage...only rain and some winds.

In short, I wouldn't change your date only because of hurricane season.  Maybe just have a plan in the back of your head just incase something were to happen.  The ONE positive thing about hurricanes is you have a few days (or week) notice, versus an earthquake or other major disasters.

My experience (or research) has been the same. I HEAVILY researched weather patterns before booking our October 22nd date (also at the end of hurricane season). We tracked the weather every day in October 2010. Every day predicted rain, but it never actually rained. We visited third weekend of November and it rained off and on one day but that was because a tropical storm was passing. It wasn't that bad. There's a reef that runs parallel to the coastline that protects the area from bad hurricanes. As we were touring hotels, we were commonly told "I've lived here 30 years and have only seen 2 hurricanes" - it's just not that much of a reality there. Hope that makes you feel better!!

Thank you SOOOO much ladies! That is a huge relief from people who have actually visited during this season. I know my guests will be kind of freaked out if they see rain on the forecast but as long as it isn't raining the whole time we will all be fine. I have already started emailing my WC (Elizabeth Riff) to workout a back-up plan incase it does rain.

Jaime I noticed you are getting married on my birthday, great date choice :) I'm sure this will be a beautiful time of year and I can't wait to see pictures!

May I ask your ladies opinions on airfare? I booked with destinationweddings.com and they don't offer airfare. I've been checking websites everyday, I'm a travel assistant for a reality TV show so it's basically my job, and haven't found anything under $473 with stops. Any advice? Right now it's looking like American Airlines with a layover in Dallas.

Hi Ladies,

Anyone doing a symbolic ceremony? We are going to have our good friend be our officiant. Wondering if anyone had a good source for wording for the ceremony? And what about the unity candle vs. sand?

We have chosen to release two white doves at our ceremony, not sure exactly how this will time into the ceremony yet... any ideas?

xoxo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
