I can't help you with the weather, but they told us that the back up location is the garden terrace area. It's located just outside of the Mojoito bar, where they have the nightly entertainment. It has a beautiful view of the resort, and is covered. The backup reception location are the ballrooms.

Good luck!

I am going through the same thing right now.......I have booked our October ceremony for 4:30pm thinking it will be over at 5pm where we will go right into a cocktail reception on the beach, and then reception starting at 6pm>>>> apparently the sun sets at around 6-6:15p......so many questions...is this enough time to get photos done?  should I start the ceremony at 4pm instead? or the dinner at 6p instead?  does the private cocktail reception only take 1 hour??

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........

anyone gone through it have advice?

:)

I told him I wanted candid shots so I am sure he got them all.  So plan for 5-7 and you'll be better off! Provide drinks and everyone is happy.

I'm getting married at 4:30pm on October 22nd.

Our timeline is ...

3:30pm "First Look" - pre ceremony pictures

4:30pm Ceremony

5:00pm Cocktail toast on the sky deck, maybe some group pictures up there

5:30pm - 6:30pm Cocktail hour (food and drinks) at Plaza Zavas (we'll still be taking some pictures)

6:30pm - 10:30pm Reception at Plaza Zavas

We have our photographer scheduled for 7 hours, 3pm - 10pm

Hope that helps!

hmmmm.....very interesting!!!!

I didn't even think about group pictures..perfect time to do it!

We have the ceremony booked for 4:30p as well....I like the 6:30p dinner start, I think I will go for that as well!

I was thinking of having the cocktail reception on the beach, we are also having our dinner reception at the plaza....what made you decide to do them both at the plaza if you don't mind me asking?

We will be 2 days after you....but are landing on the 20th...maybe I will hide behind a tree or two and check yours out!  ;)

Happy to help!

We're doing cocktails at Zavas b/c we can't stay up on the sky deck for too long. It was our only option really :/ and I want to stretch the day out as long as possible....it's going to be over so fast! We'll need to get a drink or something when we're both there!

And totally feel free to check ours out on the 22nd!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
