Hi ginnigurl, my centerpieces aren't anything spectacular but I got some fake flowers from Hobby Lobby and am placing them in a skinny turquoise blue vase that I got at the dollar store.  I have candles for the sides too but I think we have decided not to bother with those as we think they will just blow out.  Also on the table will be a turquoise table runner, some seashells, the table number, placecards, our menus, and I am thinking about getting maracas.  So, I think that will be enough.  My budget is very slim so I feel as though I've cut back a lot of stuff.  There's so much I would love to do, but just don't have the money for. At this point, I'm paying for almost the whole wedding and the trip for four people.  :(

We ordered it from island importer.......www.islandimporter.com It was the custom linen monaco suit.  He absolutely loved his suit and the grooms loved their pants and shirts that we ordered for them.  I would order a swatch it was very helpful in choosing the right color because the colors are hard to see on the computer.  He went to a mens suit shop and got measured for a custom suit and everything came out perfect.

hey ladies, I've been watching the posts for awhile now and just joined.

I am getting married at azul sensatori on july 3rd on the beach. We leave june 29 to july 6. coctail party is at the palapa yoga and recpetion at the plaza zavas.

we have 27 people going, 29 including us.

have a few questions if anyone can help

1) we are not getting a dj, we are having a dj mix songs back here to play on a ipod, will this work?

2) do we bring our ipod and speaker for walking down the aisle music on the beach?

3) how is the food? we are having a BBQ buffet with new york steak.

4) how is the wedding coordinator? do i have to make a time schedule with cake cutting, first dance, etc or do they do that? will they hang lanterns under the reception area?

5) we have 10 people in our wedding party. how many tables should we get? tables of 6, 8 or 10? also do they even do U shape wedding tables for the bridal party, there will be 12 of us. is that what destination weddings do or does everyone sit at circlular tables?? any help with this would be amazing

thanks so much

excited for the wedding and some help with these questions

In the room:

Fridge-beer, soda, water

Other- ironing table, iron, ipod alarm clock, ice bucket, 2 (?) glasses, 2 coffee cups, coffee machine, coffee pack, sugar, sweetner, creamer (powdered type)

1. That should work fine. Only thing is if you are using your own ipod dock for your dinner, you will need someone to operate it (ie. for speeches, first dance, etc.) We rented the amp and speakers for dinner because we wanted a microphone. This worked out really well since someone from the resort operated it the whole night. We just handed him our ipod and he played the music for dinner and dancing, and stopped the music for speeches, cake cutting, etc. It worked really well.

2. They provide (NO COST) an ipod player, speaker and microphone for your wedding service. Give them your ipod with very specific playlists (ie. Groom entrance, bridal entrance, signing registry, exit song, music for guests sitting) and they take care of it.

3. Sorry can't help here.

4. The wedding coordinators are amazing. You should have an idea of what you want for your ceremony and reception, but they will go through the timing of everything with you at your meeting. Usually the day after you arrive at the resort. They will hang laterns, and decorate with your items at a small charge...cash only. We had laterns, centerpieces, menu cards, name cards, guest book, kids games, coloring books, etc. that they put out and I think it cost us $120US. The price will vary depending on number of guests, items to put out, etc.

5. We had asked for a rectangular table, but they told us they did not have any. So we used the round tables of 8. We ended up with 2 "head tables" we had our bridal party with their significant others sit with them. It worked out well for us. (however we did see another wedding later in the week with long tables.....so ask and see)

good luck!

Sure! I LOVED those photos as well and their casual photos were just as good if not better than their wedding photos! ;-)

And lots of drinking so do sweat to much if it is loose a little.

I was trying so hard to coordinate colors of the grooms with the dads, and the moms with the bridesmaids that i finally just gave up!! It all worked out.  My father-in-law bless his heart ended up wearing a white tux, pale yellow shirt with mismatching blue bow tie and cumerbun!!! WOW is all i can say!  I freaked out at first when he told me about his outfit.....someone in florida told him it was perfect ....NOT.....but in the end it doesn't matter.  We all had a great time.

I laughed out loud when you described your FIL's outfit! That is something I can see my 78 year old future FIL doing! LOL I love that you flowed with it and saw the beauty in moments shared rather than the details. :-) Nice reminder for us B2B's to keep in perspective. :-)

Beautiful photos as well! You all make a beautiful family! Thanks for sharing and Congrats again!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
