Pepto Bismol (ebay) (we ended up buying single dose packs of Immodium from an ebay dealer called: barginsdelivered. They were very helpful, and based in the US, so it should be really cheap for you)

Shout wipes. Try a site called http://www.minimus.biz/ They have an amazing selection of everything travel related. Super for those of you in the US, the shipping to Canada made it too expensive.

 Thank you!!

I am working on my OOT bags and was wondering what everyone is putting in their bags?? Here is what I have so far...Each item is costing me less than $1 except for a few of the floats.

  • Floats
  • Personalized Chap Sticks
  • Personalized Koozies
  • Deck of cards
  • Advil packs
  • Aloe Vera After-sun lotion  (still looking for a good deal on these....If anyone has already bought these let me know)
  • Postcards with photos of our resort for our guests to send back home (We are making these on VistaPrint and we thinking about adding a stamp to one?)
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Packs of gum
  • Sweet & Salty Mix with nuts, chocolate and raisins
  • Fruit snacks
  • Shout Wipes (Still looking for a good deal on these...If anyone has already bought these let me know)
  • Loofahs
  • Nail files
  • Small fold-up brush with a mirror
  • Pepto Bismol (Still looking for a good deal on these...If anyone has already bought these let me know)
  • First Aid Kits (Still thinking if we really need these)
  • Welcome letter
  • Itinerary/Schedule of Wedding Events
  • List of activities the hotel offers

Below is my inspiration for my bags from another BDW bride...I love them and think they are so cute!  I already made a similar photo postcard on VistaPrint that says "Welcome to Mexico!" on it and I will be attaching it to the bad just like the example below.  The bags are only going to cost about $3 per bag.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone!!

For those of you who are married, how early did you get your hair/make up done?  Or for girls getting married, what are you thinking?  My ceremony is at 5 and I want like an hour before to get some pics with my daughter, mom and bridesmaids.

Our wedding was at 3pm. I had my hairdresser with me, and she did our hair and makeup (so 4 of us total) We started at 10am-ish and I think we were done by about 1:30pm. It was a nice relaxing set up. Had breakfast with all my girlfriends at 9am, and then we ordered room service for lunch! Don't forget to eat LOL!

Just need to vent for a second.....So..FI calls me today and tells me that he just talked to his mom....she said that she been talking to her sisters and neices and nepher (so FI's aunts and cousins) and they, at this point, don't think they will be able to come to the wedding.

FI has been telling me from Day Freaking 1 that his family are all travelers and they would for sure be there at this can't miss event....wheras I was constantly saying...nope...they're not coming so I would rather not invite all these people and keep it super small and leave it at that.

So...part if the reason I did a group agreement was for all this family that FI was so freaking sure would be coming....now I'm getting nervous that we'll have to pay the penatlies for all the rooms we don't fill (luckily we didn't do a huge group agreement..only 16 rooms...but still)

Also...his mom was saying that they don't even know if they can afford to go....and she would rather just give us whatever $$$ they have and use it towards the wedding.....

is it wrong that I'm totally ok with that?

I feel bad for FI...but seriously...you've now known about the wedding since last July (7 months ago) and you had to know that one day your son would be getting married (not even talking to me...just in general) so...how have you not been saving AT ALL for this????

Done venting.....

I know I have my mom and my 2 friends coming and I'm good (I've been saying that since the beginning...as long as my mom and my friend Dawn are there...I'm happy)

I just think FI had unrealistic expectations from the very beginning....and we've heard nothing from his Dad either (they're divorced).  You would think his parents would be there....but...whatever.....

Now..I'm really done venting :)

I've had a similar experience. My Family booked and my FI family keep putting it off or say they can't come. It is my opinion that its just not as important to FI family cause his the son.

Ive come to the conclusion if it was just me and my FI on a beach i would be happy. Its just a bonus that some of my own family will be there.

Im sure it will work itself out. And im sure you will have a wonderful day anyway. x

Hey everyone!

I'm new to this site but have loved everything that I've read so far. SO helpful that we're all getting married at the same location!

I'm getting married April 3rd. Our cocktail hour is at Palapa Yoga and then our reception is at Plaza Zavaz. I'm curious if people are decorating both their cocktail location as well as their reception location or just their reception area.

Also, I'm planning on doing paper lanterns & white Christmas lights. For those of you who are doing similar, can you tell me how many lanterns & strands of lights you bought?

Thanks,
Shanna

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
