Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to pass this tidbit on.  I found a place that has the sashes as low as .69 cents each at www.weddingslinen.com.  They were great and fast and wonderful quality.  It was way cheaper than paying the resorts $4/sash fee.  I bought sashes for the ceremony and another set for the reception ( b/c my WC said they wouldn't transfer them..) less than the price for the resorts sashes at the ceremony only.  Also there is a thread on here for brides sharing sashes so you might find someone with the same colors and go half on them.  There are affordable options you just have to work a little.  Hope this helps!  Oh... I also got matching table runners!  Packing them all to day so good luck!

Reception chairs are covered with white covers and white bows (included in the sweet wedding pkg for free).   If you want the chairs covered for the reception and "your bows added" - make sure you tell them.  I had silver bows that I brought transferred from the ceremony to the reception thinking that they would just add them to the covered chairs and substitute my bows for the white ones - but they didn't.  The chairs at my ceremony were uncovered with the bows I brought.  I didn't really care - but if its important to you - let them know.

I am doing the yellow organza sashes at wedding ceremony to coordinate with the yellow sheers.  I think you will be okay Jaime.  I orginally wanted the satin at the ceremony but i found it difficult to match the tiffany blue sashes with the sheers ( to many shades of blues would through me off).  SO I took the safe way out lol! I do believe another bride did the satin and they looked beautiful.  Just make sure they tie the knots tight so they don't slip! $5/chair cover was away to steep of me. Plus my mom would ruin it for me if they had any wrinkles......don't ask.  Growing up we ironed our bed sheets....why?.......She always said it would make us sleep better. LOL

Less is more...I know you are doing satin bows for the reception...are you doing with or without covers?

I am having a very difficult time deciding between a Legal and Symbolic wedding because I am concerned about the Judge or Minister not being able to speak very good English.  I have seen a lot of wedding videos (some at Azul) where the judge/minister speaks very bad English and you cannot understand what he/she is saying throughout the entire ceremony.  We are having our ceremony videotaped professionally and it would be so much better if we could understand what is being said at the ceremony.  I really want to do the legal ceremony but now I am leaning more towards the Symbolic ceremony and getting married in US before or after the wedding.

Do you know if the Ministers for the Symbolic Wedding speak better English than the Judges for the Legal Wedding?

Is anyone having a friend or family member performing the ceremony instead of hiring a Minister?

I was wondering what other brides are doing?

Looking forward to hearing from everyone and thank you!! J

My WC will be doing all the paperwork for my legal wedding in the Riviera maya. I´m having a legal ceremony performed by a Mexican judge who speaks Good English. Here´s her web in case you want to know more about it. www.floresjulieta.mex.tl bride.gif

In a private villa close to Tulum next May!!  Have you made up your mind yet about the legal wedding?rolleyes.gif

OMG...I don't even know what to say to you....They had better be giving you a shitload of freebies and discounts.  I can't believe that this is happening and it would be the wedding party they choose to move...it should be other guests...NOT the person who is bringing a freaking group and getting married.

one more thing I wanted to share before I start work = )

I just found my shoes (day before the dress fitting too, no stress!)  I just wanted to post my shoes, they are in a cream colour (my dress is cream) and the best part only $39.99 at The Shoe Company!  I was just about to pay $130 for a pair that were kind of ok too, I'm so happy with them!

Beautiful shoes!

Oh...goodness, I am so sorry! Azul Beach is a nice property, but like you said not what you had planned. How big is your wedding? I wonder if you can talk to the resort and your TA and have them move other people! Perhaps call the resort directly and talk to a manager? And if they say no, then go after major compensation! Wedding should be at least 50% off or free and all your guests should recieve big resort certificates for use at the gift shop or spa!

I know taylorwd got married at AB about a year ago, her pictures are beautiful and might give you some ideas.

That would piss me off so much! I wish there was a solution we could offer....Good luck.

WHAT?!?   They CANNOT do that to you!!!!  Do you have a contract?  Call back your TA and tell him/her that it is just plain unacceptable and they need to figure something else out.  How many people are in your group?  Did they say for sure that all of your events will be at AB too?  I'm sure AB is a beautiful resort too, and I know the brides that have gotten married there have been happy, but still.  You chose AS and planned AS and sold all of your guests on AS!

That is crazy.  Wish I could help.  Does your TA have a close relationship with the resort?  My TA does.....I'd be happy to give you her contact information if you feel like talking to someone else might help....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
