We were looking into a private group catamaran cruise and I know Paradise Catamarans in Puerto Adventus has a really good package and they are rated #1 on Trip Advisor.

Thank you for the information!  Where are you getting married at?

Do you know if the Ministers for the Symbolic Wedding speak better English than the Judges for the Legal Wedding?

Is anyone having a friend or family member performing the ceremony instead of hiring a Minister?

I was wondering what other brides are doing?

Looking forward to hearing from everyone and thank you!! J

My WC will be doing all the paperwork for my legal wedding in the Riviera maya. I´m having a legal ceremony performed by a Mexican judge who speaks Good English. Here´s her web in case you want to know more about it. www.floresjulieta.mex.tl bride.gif

Ugh...I don't know what do do.... The only reason why I am thinking of doing the symbolic wedding now is because I saw a video of a wedding where no one could understand the minister and I want to atleast be able to understand the minster a little bit.

We did a symbolic wedding in Mexico, but got married in Canada before we left. We did not tell our guests and the symbolic wedding truly sounded and felt like my wedding! The other one in Canada (also special, don't get me wrong) but that was signing the paperwork. The real wedding feeling was in Mexico.

I do need to explain, we wanted to also include my mother, who is bedridden and in a nursing home (she could not make it to Mexico for obvious reasons). So we choose to get legally married in front of her in the nursing home. That way she was there for my "wedding". That being said it also made our planning easier for Mexico, since we could now do the wedding whenever we wanted...didn't have to wait the 3 business days and the ceremony was performed in english.

None of our guests know the difference, and you still sign a Marriage certificate, so it certainally does have the 'real' feeling. Whatever you choose it will be a magical day!

Too funny! But adorable and very endearing:)

Random coincidence but I got an email today from my FI (I'm away for work this week) and he had attached a word doc with 6 potential rings. He likes a more simple style (which I do too), a thick silver band with rounded edges. I like that he started the process himself, but then again, he's been totally involved in this process which makes it that much more fun. He's so excited to go ring shopping for HIM, since we spent quite a few months ring shopping for ME!

http://ring-ninja.com/8mmbltiwisig.html  So I check out the website. Look for online reviews and decide that it's a legit good website. The reviews are great. I call and ask them about their return policy and it's great. You can pay with Paypal which i like WAY better then giving credit card directly. So I order it. The funny thing is this ring is SO NOT something I would think he would pick out. He is a bit more shall we say plain. This ring is edgy. He said he asked several girls in the office and they all decided on this one. HA, Very random for a Thursday.

Also I have (hopefully) managed to post my resort review.

Here's the link:

If that does not work, it's under Resorts/Villas, Azul Sensatori.

Great review, Murmel! Tahnks so much for sharing your thoughts and feedback with all of us B2B's! Your insight answered alot of nagging questions I had and helped me plot and plan a few more things. Quick question:  What was the total cost of the Cocktail Party you held on the beach right next to your ceremony site? That's a great idea and I'm thinking about doing the same...Thanks!

Wondering what other brides are going with......

:)

**sometimes I avoid coming to this site because I feel so unorganized...you all sound like you know EXACTLY what you want and I am so not there!!!!!!!  undecided.gif

Also, I forgot to mention to you that there is no reason for you to feel unorganized. We are all at different planning stages and we are all here to help each other. I too am REALLY undecided on alot of things re: our wedding, but I find that by coming here and reading up, I'm able to narrow down my desires versus things that don't catch my eye. These ladies are great, so lean on us if you need help! If it makes you feel better, I am 3 months away for our big date and haven't sent out invites yet. ;-)  WELCOME!

The DJ was actually my FI's project.....(and don't tell but I kinda hijacked it after he gathered all the options) LOL  But basically he read the DJ reviews on this site and then he went to Youtube and watched clips of both Mannia and Doremixx. He also contacted them both via email and reviewed both song lists and he finally contacted them via phone. We watched the youtube clips together a few nights and we both vibed with Mannia more. He also felt alot better when he spoke with him on the phone because he got a lot of questions answered and felt that he was "friendlier." Lastly, when we told Mannia about the outside vendor fee, which I believe he was already familiar with, he negotiated with my FI and came down alot lowed than Doremixx was willing to. So that solidified it for us......

I was thinking the day we land (as of right now, we are leaving 6:30am Toronto and arriving 9:30am Cancun)....but my TA brought to my attention that should we be delayed, it could be super tight.  Also, would the guests want a planned event right away?

My worry is that the point of it (to get to know everyone) will be lost a little a day and a half after we arrive!

Any thoughts?

As well, for those staying a week and going with the legal ceremony....which day out of your week are you planning your wedding day?  I know we have to be in the Country for 3 business days, not sure what makes sense...?

huh.gif

We are planning on having our "welcome party/rehearsal dinner" on Friday evening at Spoons. We will have a reception on Saturday evening as well following our wedding. We have not decided if we will have a cocktail party for all of our guests on Friday night and then only invite our close family to the rehearsal dinner or if we will invite everyone to the Spoons "rehearsal" dinner and then have a cocktail hour for them following the ceremony while we are taking our photos. ???? Still undecided on how to handle that. I also don't know if it worth having a cocktail party between the ceremony and reception.........I'm open to past brides help here..........

GREAT planning journal!!!! I was impressed overall but TRULY impressed by the fact that you made your own OOT bags!!!! You put Martha Stewart to shame! LOL Everything looked so organzied and well put together. I also loved your center piece idea and hope to snag that idea from you as well! CONGRATS again!

Ok just wanted to share

one more thing I wanted to share before I start work = )

I just found my shoes (day before the dress fitting too, no stress!)  I just wanted to post my shoes, they are in a cream colour (my dress is cream) and the best part only $39.99 at The Shoe Company!  I was just about to pay $130 for a pair that were kind of ok too, I'm so happy with them!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
