Congrats i am so happy everything went so well!  We are very excited for you and thank you for all the insight on the resort.  We look forward to seeing the pictures.  My FI aka my hubsand!! Thats right ladies we went to the church and our pastor married us thursday!!  So he wanted to know the low down on the cigar roller. Was it a flat fee, was there a per person fee? Approximately how many cigars per person?  We can't wait til our turn and on the major grind trying to get everything done.

I printed on 70lb card stock.  I chose a light yellow card stock with the hot pink print.  They look pretty cute.  I hope the idea works for you.

The room card was a martha idea as well that i thought would be fun for people.  Plus it will save sometime trying to figure out where everyone is since the resort is booked and some are on the family side and other on the adult.  This is what the card looks like. I formatted it so three will print on one cardstock. I hope this helps.

Wow...thats just crazy.  I asked multiple WCs in Miami and onsite and all told me it must be in Spanish.  I believe their exact response was "this is 100% a requirement and there is no way around it".  Goes to show nothing is set in stone if you can get ahold of the right person!

Welcome back...and congrats!!

Hey ladies!  I haven't been on here for a while but wanted to see how all your planning was going!

Oh and that is unbelievable that they DO perform the legal ceremony in English!  I was a victim of the "no it must be done in Spanish" response.  So if it can be done in English I definitely recommend that lol.

Thanx for the other forum.

But your wedding is definately first im not getting married till 2012!! Tried to plan in advance in an attempt to make it affordable for everyone! Although still getting the moaning. Surely 15 months gives everyone plenty of time to plan their trip!

Hope your planning is going well.

I shall also check out the other forum!

I used this company and was pleased with the customer service and the product:

This was 135$ less 20% for the food discount we were able to get - so just over 100$.  The flavours I chose were a mixture of vanilla and strawberry.  They were very tasty and guests even took some back to their rooms to have for the next day.  I loved it because we didn't have to cut slices for the guests and because it still had a cake we could cut on top for symbolic sake.

Also, thanks for the info on the legal ceremony....I was totally considering changing to a symbolic ceremony because of the Spanish thing...now I have to reconsider.

Cigar roller is 400$ flat rate.  This price automatically entitles you to a selection of 200$ worth of cigars at no additional cost.  Once on site they give you a booklet with all the cigar choices you have.  They vary in prices with the most expensive one being 100$.  My FI (at the time) was able to select 20 cigars of various name brands with the 200$ he was entitled.  You may be able to select more or less depending on the price points you pick.  Of course - if you go over the 200$ you need to pay the additional costs for the added cigars.  There is no per person charge for the cigar roller.

Congrats on being a new MRS!

Thanks!

My wedding coordinator in miami (Carolina) always said it could be done in English - but b/c so many people kept saying it couldn't I just figured I didn't care either way.  But when I got on site - immediately there was no problem and they acted like it was done all the time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
