She also just told me Doremixx is not allowed at the resort but I've seen numerous brides on here who have booked him/them. I'm going to fight it!

I told her that i was booking Doremixx and she never said that they weren't allowed she just told me to pass on my details to her once i'd booked him. Ive spoke to her on the phone, but its very expensive for me to keep phoning her from the UK. And that is what we are paying for is for a WC so they should do their job and reply seeing as we are the ones spending the money.

Thanks 1106! We got our invitations rolling about a week ago and our goal is to get them out by the first month of February. I'm finally starting to feel the "countdown" or "wedding task" euphoria. :-)

We had this same issue very early on and I politely informed people that we were having a "small, intimate, and quaint" ceremony. I've repeated this so many times that it rolls off my tounge like a wave. I have a co-worker who was with me the day I met my FI and she asks at least every two weeks if we have finalized our guest list, although I told her last year that our STD's and such went out and were booked with a resort, etc..... My Step-Mom forwarded the link and password to our DW.com site to her friends and family that I did not invite just because her husband (my Father) is paying for half and she thought it was her right as his spouse. :-( I had to tell out TA to run the names by us before accepting credit card authorizations for room deposits from people! :-/ I think it's just the nature of people to want to participate in a good time, not to mention not many can say they have been invited to or attended a destination wedding. Take it in stride and as a compliment that people want to see you two get hitched and celebrate your union. :-) Or find a really sweet and kind way to politely let them know that you are not accepting anyone of your guest list. (ie. You are on a strict budget because your folks are paying, you are having a small and private ceremony, or you are already at your max for your invite list) As others said, you are marrying the man of your dreams and that will be the highlight of your day when it is all said and done! ;-) I know I'm late as ever with this reply, but I could so relate to you. ;-)

Not trying to cause Panic (Even though I got a little panicky myself last night) My TA called and her Group Sales rep for Karisma told her that they are showing NO availability the couple days prior and after my wedding (May 15th) Today my TA (THE LITTLE PITBULL SHE IS) is researching to see if the resort is full for real or it's just group contractors eating up blocks of rooms on hold.

I only panic because technically I have 5 more couples that want to book and it there is no room at the inn then  so be it. I guess last night I was somewhere between really sad and dissappointed and somewhat releaved. I mean I sent my invites out in August. I warned people every other month that May was a SUPER popular time and the resort would fill up.

What I feel the most sad about is those 5 couples are all my FI people. All my friends booked back in October.

BLAH...I will let you all know what my TA says later this week

Not to add more panic and frenzy to your post, but it took our TA four weeks to get a response on our photogs room availability because our wedding weekend is sold out as well.  She didn't go into the details and if rooms were just on hold for other travel operators or not, but Travel Impressions has reached their max for Memorial Day Holiday weekend. So I guess it's time to offer alternative options to guest or let them select a resort of their choice.

We too had this discussion in our household.....do we feel guilty and go out of our way for people who had the last 7 months to book or do we let adults be adults. 40 people from my side have booked and 5 of my FI's have. We initially got all spazzed out about that and then we decided that this is the ONE event of our lives that will be about us and if people couldn't get off their duffs to make reservations, it was their loss and not ours. It's natural to want everyone you love and care about to be there, but at the end of the day some initiative has to be taken on their part as well and not just all on the part of you two as a couple. Chin up, I feel your frustration. Those that were meant to be there, will be.......and regardless you and your hubby to be will be in such happy bliss that a few missing faces will not spoil your mood.

Jacuzzi Junior Suite - 2 Adults - $682.08

Luxury Jacuzzi Junior Suite - 1 Adult - $682.08

Luxury Jacuzzi Junior Suite - 2 Adults - $532.44

Luxury Jacuzzi Junior Suite - 3 Adults - $532.44

Well ladies I have checked off some major things off my to do list today! SO just wanted to share. My final fitting for my wedding dress and TTD was today and the changes and alterations were beautiful.  I mean she was fabulous.  I told her i would give her a shout out!  She wanted me to wait until a couple of weeks before the wedding to finalize everything which made me nervous. So literally last saturday we fitted both of my dresses, my two bridesmaids, three dresses for my mom and a dress for my mother-in law.  She called me Monday morning saying everything was done!!! Wow so amazing and beautifully done.  If any one lives in columbus ohio area i know the BEST SEAMSTRESS!

Ok other things completed are my OOT bags and goodies, place cards and wine glass charms, my room cards ( i will pass these out at the welcome party and guest can swap room numbers so they know where to find each other and it encourages mingling), and menus.

So still working on excursion / important reminders letter and ceremony programs.  So needless to say improvement has been made and so happy everything is coming together in the nick of time! woot.gif

Unfortunately this is true.  It actually shows this in the resorts standard online rates, so all TAs will tell you the same thing.

You could also look into them staying at the resort?  They would have to stay 3 nights.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
