Gotcha... I'm in the US, but will still check to see what we have here. My "boss" is in Missasauga (I know I butchered that), but I know he won't shop there for me...haha!

Bummer!! I love the crystal blue water...that's really why we chose Riviera Maya. I'm sure it will still be pretty, but not 100% what we wantedsad.gif

Regarding the blue water. It looks very grey in the pictures because the sky was overcast, which will reflect into the water. The water is usually quite blue, although not quite as stunning as you might see in other areas. This is due to the coral reef that is directly in front of the resort. Hope that helps.

Quick question for everyone....does anyone have any pictures of just plain old chairs for the ceremony?  Is everyone choosing chair covers and bows? I want them...but $9 per chair just seems crazy and like the hugest waste of almost $1000.

Does anyone think the absence of chair covers and bows will take anything away awy or am I being stupid for choosing this to obsess about today???

I particularly like the white chairs without covers but that is just me.

I ordered bows from Linen table cloth . com.

way cheaper then renting and then u can sell if u wish.

I was actually going plain until my sister X that.  I think plain is beautiful too.  As I keep reminding myself:  are guests really going to remember this???  Money is best spent on other things in my opinion!

Just walk along the beach north (left if you are facing the water) about 500 yards. There is no coral there, but stunning white sand going into the water...creating the super blue effect you are looking for!

We are not covering the chairs or using bows. I like simple! We'll have pictures for you in a few weeks.

I contacted DJ Doremixx and it's $800 plus the $500 outside vendor fee and they will play for 5 hours.  So that's definitely cheaper than the Lomas DJ!

I've heard great things about him (them). I want 5 hours as well...it's cheaper to go with them for 5 hours PLUS the $500 fee than it is to do the $1500 package with the resort? That gives me hope!

Thanks!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
