Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Regarding sushi...not sure if it's at this resort but on my site visit, we ate at the japanese (sushi) restaurant at both NOW Jade and NOW Sapphire and it just wasn't that good. I know it's not Azul but we walked away thinking to ourselves "ok, we just won't go for sushi when in this part of Mexico" - and we LOVE sushi!! Maybe we're super picky but I don't think it was just that...anyways, maybe AS is smart and knows they can't mass deliver a good sushi product? I would respect them for that. Ok, the end!

Interesting what you're saying. I'm so nervous about the 190+ we're inviting, I really don't want more than 75 and when we went through our list and highlighted the "most likelys" we came up with 89! I'm getting married on the sky deck (NO DOUBT ABOUT IT)..did it seem like the 80 figure might budge a little if needed? You've given me hope that my actual guest list will stay smaller than I'm thinking!!!

Awesome, okay! You obviously had people select beforehand? My WC said I could offer 3 pre-selected choices with 80+ people which I think we'll have but what if I give them 3 options and we only get 70 people? I guess that's a question for her...

And do you know how the extra weight is purchased ahead of time? :) thanks so much!!! i've been trying to get this info from our travel agent and off of the sunwing site, but i'm not getting clear answers.

From what we have been told, 2 check in pieces maximum, up to 30kg (split between the 2 total). Plus your carry on. Extra weight we have been told is $10 /kg! It's insane...hence why I am trying to pack very carefully.

Chiming in on the conversation about private meal options!  I just asked our WC how the options worked because I was really confused by their catering packet. Here's what the she said:

For the pick and choose menus, you are able to pick 2 dinner entrees for guests. Everyone gets the same appetizer and dessert that you choose. However, the dinner entrees need to be decided 45 days in advance, meaning youâ€d have to ask your guests if they prefer chicken or steak (or whatever two entrees you choose). They canâ€t decide when they get there.
For the family style, petit gourmet and bbq deluxe menus, you pay a per person rate and you receive everything listed on the menus. You donâ€t have to select anything specific…you get it all!

We'll likely go with a private reception because we're going to have only 20-30 people.  It's cheap enough to do a private meal, and we'll likely hover right around the 25-person minimum that Azul Beach has for the semi-private restaurant meal.

Michele - Check out this thread for ceremony scripts:

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/21660/share-your-ceremony-script

There are some really great ones there.  I teared up a little when I read through them!  It's making me seriously rethink our decision to do the legal wedding.

We sent out about 275 invitations and I budgeted for about 100 people. I am 7 weeks from the drop dead booking date my TA and I came up with and we are at about 55 right now and I would Say confidently we will end up at 75 or so. There were 30 or more people that were "WE ARE SO GOING" then emailed or called that they weren't. It's odd but I would talk to your guests and get them to book right away to get a better idea of a final number. GOOD LUCK!

Also, it sounds like for 150 people, the only options we're going to have for ceremony, cocktail, & reception sites will be the beach or ballroom; is that right? Or are there other places in the resort that you think we could do a cocktail hour at?

Thanks again -- great help!

Email me at maggieandjay2012@hotmail.com I can send you the script our WC sent us. She said I could edit it however I wanted since we are doing a symbolic ceremony

I think you really have to be honest with who you think is a close family member or friend that will come and base your decision making on that.  We only sent out 40 invites to close family and friends and 30-36 people are coming (6 are still trying to book at other resorts).   We will party with all our other friends when we get back!

We travel to the Carribean from Canada quite a bit and always overpack (we've used a variety of air carriers).  They have never charged us for baggage on the way there but will most likely charge you on the way back (they are a lot less tolerant over there - likely b/c they know they stand to make money).   In saying all this - upgrading to a plus package definitely is a good idea and provides ease of mind!

Hardly any more "sleeps" murmel!  woot.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
