Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Shut up, you went to Zoetry for your honeymoon? That's where we want to go? Totally different pace, right?

We'll be at AS (assuming we book, we're in negotiations, ha!) for a good 6 or 7 nights before and after the wedding so hopefully we'll be able to take advantage of the activities. Ok, you're getting me really excited!!! I'm glad the night scene is good (and there are options), I know my friends and family aren't going to want to stop, I can't wait.

Sounds like you lived it up to the fullest!!

I really really loved the resort there was so much going on so much to do during the day ...water aerobics, painting on the beach, dance lessons, etc....And the beach BBQ was soooo good!!!! I almost wished we stayed there instead of going to Zoetry after the wedding lolol (zoetry was nice just a little boring coming from AS) I didn't get to do much b/c we had to entertain our guest all weekend but we are definitely going back to really take in all the resort has to offer!

Did you go to Mojitos at night or the "teen club" (does that really turn into a dance club?)

Ok, getting annoyed that my comments are disappearing!

I was saying that I wish I didn't love the look of chivarris that much. We're expecting 75-80 people so that's a lot of chairs!

Did they charge you extra for the white folding chairs you had on the sky deck?

You had a big wedding party...was that fun? Did you get a big enough pool space every day :)? I'm hoping the hotel isn't very full when we're there next october. We visited end of November and it wasn't very crowded.

May I ask if you did the symbolic or legal ceremony?  I'm just curious if doing the legal, and it having to be translated, takes away from the ceremony.  But, on the other hand, I don't think I can do the legal before.  For me, I just wouldn't feel right.  Hmm....

We were down in April and both my FI and I are foodies, and we choose Sensatori for this reason. It is by far the best food we have had at an all inclusive. The breakfast and lunches were the norm, but the Italian and Le Chique are fabulous! (secret-Le Chique just got voted into the top 20 restaurants in ALL of Mexico. And only the guests of the hotel can access it) The Mexican restaurant and the wood burning pizza oven were great for lunch!

Make sure they include it on your detail sheet before you even head down! We just finished all the details on our wedding today-and made sure the discount was in place!

I think the price is about $12/chair (for the chivarri chairs)

For the ceremony the regular fold out white chairs are included- not covered. The slip covers are extra. However when you do a private event, ie. dinner reception the same chairs are used and the white covers are included.

We just got legally married on the weekend. We really tried to play it down a little, but it made it very special, since my mother (who is in a nursing home and can't come south) was able to watch us get married. We found a judge who was kind enough to come down to the nursing home and perform the ceremony in front of her. We had my FI parents, sister (also can't come to Mexico, since she will be over 8 months pregnant) and brother-in-law, and 2 very close family friends attend. It was beautiful and I can't wait to do it again. The ironic part....(and it wasn't planned), but our legal ceremony was 12.4 (Dec 4) and Mexico will be 1.24 (Jan 24)=the same numbers! :)

So we plan on doing the symbolic ceremony, but other than a few people, no one knows we are already legally married. And we are trying to keep it that way!

They're artificial flowers but they're not silk, they're latex so they look and feel more real than silk. I got them from www.debbiecoflowers.com but there are other sites that sell them.

If you could ask your sister:

1) how do you contact the nanny?

2) do they have a long wait list? ie. to you have to make reservations a few days in advance?

3) approximate cost?

Thanks so much!

Also just curious, did they have a microphone/speaker you used during your ceremony? Trying to figure out if this is included or an extra I have to rent?

She was put in contact with the nanny when she went to the kids center. I'm going to PM you when she sends me the answers to your questions.

There were speakers for the ceremony but I don't think there was a microphone. If there was, we didn't use it. I heard that I wouldn't be necessary, but honestly, for our ceremony it was so windy that you can't hear our vows on our videos. From what I hear, our guests could hear it in person but on the video they're drowned out. Also, they say that a CD player is included for the ceremony, but we had CDs and they told us it would be easier for them to use the iPod dock.

Zoetry was exactly 10 mins from the resort (its on the same road just continue instead of turning into sensatori) lol dont get me wrong it was AMAZING! just very secluded and quiet and I guess I was still in party mode LOL the service was EXCELLENT I would def go back ...just with like 20 books to read LOL

No they didnt charge me extra for the sky deck ...it can seat up to 80 ppl so up to 80 is free =) I absolutely loved that we had such a big group ...we took over the resort LOL there was hardly anyone there lol I'm sure you'll be fine in october no worries ;)

Dont stress too much ...I learned not to set my expectations too high to save myself from any let downs and that's what I did and everything turned out perfect.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
