Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

A sunset wedding will be beautiful! What time of the year are you getting married? Our wedding is at 5:30, so I figure we can get some great pictures of the sunset right after the ceremony :) I think I have read where there have been brides who received reservations for 7 or 7:30, but they may have changed the "rules" to get people to spend the money on a private reception.

Congratulations!! I look forward to hearing your details and seeing pictures!

Ladies-- my sister (MOH) finally picked out her dress today!! We are only having one person to stand for us on each side, so I let my sister pick out the dress and color she wanted. We decided on a bright orchid color, dragon fruit by Alexia. It's a brighter, beachier color than Alfred Angelo's purple and more similar to berry by Mori Lee. The pictures online don't do the color justice (unless you have a killer monitor, which I do not!). The closest thing online I have found is the home page for destinationweddings.com. Check it out the purple MOH dress on http://www.destinationweddings.com and let me know what you think!! I'm so excited that phase is over. I'm ready to start planning around that color now. Does anyone have any recommendations for flowers or should I stick with orchids? I hear orchids are ridiculously expensive, so I wasn't sure if anyone has other, more economical, options.

I was able to get 7pm for my welcome dinner at Spoon. My WC just asked me what time I would like and never informed me of time limits. I think all of our WC have different ideas of what can be done.

That is so wierd. I have had two WC's (Cecilia and Maria) and they both sent me my Excel spreadsheet every time they emailed me and I was able to tell them when they had things incorrect. Future brides should try to make sure they ask for it often to get those details ironed out.

I am having similar issues....technically I think we are suppose to pay everything in a little over a week, and I just got to see my detail sheet last week (for the first time), and there was nothing there. Seems like I am starting from scratch and all the questions seem to take months to get back to me. I am at this point calling my TA, the WC and another WC all at the same time to try and get some answers....I am suppose to hear from them on Wednesday. I'll let you know!

I found them in Minneapolis. I believe it was either Target or Wal-Mart that also had them for $1. Hope that helps!

Do you mean paying for the "trip" or the "wedding details and events"?  Our deadline for trips just came up on the 23rd and our wedding planners/travel agents were terrible at follow up or accuracy in Toronto.  The trip cost deadline appears to be quite flexible as we still have people paying for their trips at their quoted rates if they made the deposit.  As for the wedding details - I have Carolina in Miami - she has been very easy to deal with and helpful.  I just populated my entire "detail sheet" then made a list of questions and scheduled a teleconference to go over everything and fill me in on my "question list" I put together.  Our payments for the wedding events is not due until 1 month before the wedding - you can still continue to make changes to your detail sheet until then.  Don't "overpay in advance" - you can always add your last minute people and pay at the resort.  I have totally by-passed communication with the local wedding coordinators - I don't even cc them on emails.

Not sure but that's a good question. If you're really big on cake it may be worth it.

But that 's mostly because I am worried some will get damaged along the way, so we are bringing extras.Plus FI loves the latern idea, so he took charge of the amounts...it might be a bit overkill LOL. I have my BD session tomorrow. So nervous, I thought I would have all this time to get ready...and it's tomorrow.

I'll get the details from my sister and PM you. Is there anything specific you want to know?

Good luck on your BD shoot!!! smile159.gif

I had fun with mine. It had been the most I'd laughed in awhile at that point. A good stress reliever and escape from wedding planning. I did down a bottle of wine while there so that may have added to it! msnwink.gif Lol.

I think I forgot to answer this when my post disappeared. I found them on ebay for $1.50. It was actually the Daily Spanish for Dummies. Not really sure what the difference is but I'm sure any of them will serve the purpose.

We got a seating at Spoon for 8:30 but we had to fight for it and it took about 3 weeks to get approved. If you insist on it, they'll give it to you. My WC was Carolina.

Just an option, you can do real touch orchids if you really want orchids. I wasn't budging on the fact that I wanted callas and orchids. The resort quoted me $300 for them and I refused to pay that. My bouquet wound up costing less than $100.

How did you manage that deal?!  I am having callas and orchids too and have already told them that their quote of 300$ is outrageous but I haven't heard back yet.

We're getting married on 7/19, so 6:30 is what they told us for 'sunset'. I'm debating whether to fight them on it, or just move the ceremony back to 5:30. We've had so much hassle already with planning this, not sure I want to have any more evil.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
