Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Thats funny...we also picked Azul because of ALLLL the kids people insisted on bringing.  Now there's only 2 actually coming :).  The rest decided they wanted a mini vacation without the kids.  Ugh.  It really is a perfect resort for both adults and kids, so I'm more than happy we chose Azul.

Did you fly Delta?  I was told bags were free on Delta and we thought that would be a great savings as my sister will split her bag with her hubby and that would give me another one for just extra's!

GIRLS, I am totally having a meltdown.  I feel like I chose the wrong dress.  I need it to hurry up and come in so I can try it on again to be sure, but there are so many things now that I wish I'd done differently.  Like, I got the dress in diamond white b/c that's what I tried on but the model pic has it in white, and I think I should have gotten it in that color.  Then, I ordered the size I tried on, which based on the measurements they took, was way small, but I ordered that size b/c it fit.  But now, in looking at other corset backs, it looks as though mine should have been a bit bigger so the criss crosses aren't so big.  I never loved the back, and now I also wish it had more a sweetheart neck.  :(   So stressing.....

I understand how you feel and I can only say that when I tried it on again almost 12 weeks since I bought it, I still loved it but in those 12 weeks I had a ton of doubts. As soon as I put it on I remembered why I loved it and how good it looked! Hang in there. I bet you fall in love with it all over again!

Don't pay attention to what the measurements say.  If it fit you in the store...then its the right size for you.  I had the exact same panic when I looked at the measurement table, but sure enough when it arrived, it fit exactly the same!

Also, thats the beauty of the corset...plenty of room for adjustment, and who really knows how big the V is supposed to be???  :)

Do you have any pics of the dress you want to share?

I can't copy it from this computer.  My big computer broke so I have to do all my wedding planning on my daughters 10 inch screen, and now I guess all the Word products are expired b/c I can't do anything in Word, excel, etc. anymore.  :(  Booo

I did get my flowers in tonight!  They are beautiful.  I do wish my bouquet was smaller, but it's all good.  I got my daughter all dolled up with her BM dress, put up her hair and she looked so cute.   I also got in our cups.  I thought they came with tops though so I will have to check on that.  I just don't know if people will carry them around if they don't have tops.  Hmmm....  I will try and post pics of those tomorrow too.  I like the little poem I put on them.  :)

Oh, and more good news for the day, my FI's parents are going to give us some money toward the wedding.  That is fabulous news.  We may pull this off without any debt.  Yippee cay yay!!!!  I work two jobs so I stay out of debt and I definitely don't want the wedding to put me over the top.  So, I'm absolutely thrilled about that!!

I've had second guesses about everything and changed plans many times so I know how you feel!  I think it is because we start to plan so far in advance and then so many other great ideas come along.  Focus on what is truly important to you and be confident with your decisions - no one will notice the details that are concerning you.  If you feel that you truly did chose the wrong dress - can your deposit be applied to another dress?  If not - find the dress you love - sell the other one on ebay!  One of my friends did this just recently!

Oh gosh-- I'm sooo glad I saw this! I tried on my dress 2 weeks ago and realized that I do not love it. I think part of me bought my dress because my mom LOVED it. I tried it on and thought it was just ok, nothing great. I should definitely feel different trying on my wedding dress, right??? My mom was with me when I was there 2 weeks ago and she knew the look on my face and said "well, maybe this isn't the dress for you..." I almost brought her to tears because she has already purchased it. I was thinking about going to look at other dresses without her and seeing what I come up with. Most places will allow you to use a credit towards another dress. Can you give them a call to see what their policy is? The whole thing is making me sick so I can definitely relate. I would love to hear the outcome of your story.

Extra money is a great bonus. And I love that you are planning not to go in debt for your wedding. I think too many people overspend on their one day.... part of the reason I am doing a destination wedding. My way of eloping with our families there! My future in-laws keep asking how much money they can contribute and I just don't want to throw out a number and her think it's too high. I may be overstepping, but how reasonable is it to keep the wedding ceremony and photographer below $5K. excluding travel of course. That's what I'm shooting for, but I usually have unrealistic goals sad.gif

Hey Michele,

I'm so sorry to hear that you are having the same mixed feelings.  It kinda blows, but I'm hoping when I go back I remember why I made the decision to purchase it.  Like you, my mom was there and she really liked the dress.  So, I guess we will see.  I'm tempted to go keep looking as well, but I'm going to wait it out.  Like nv+gms said, the little things that are stressing me out, aren't going to be a factor for everyone else, and I'm sure they will think I look beautiful in the dress.  Fingers crossed, I feel the same!!!

Oh, and for your question on the photographer and ceremony, under 5K is very doable.  Have you tried to get some other girls to go in together on a photographer?  That really helps with keeping the costs down.  For me personally, the ceremony is so short, I am planning on doing the exotic gazebo for $220 that comes with the tulle and two sets of flowers, some flower petals down the aisle and I'm bringing bows for the chairs, no covers.  I think it will be pretty.  Would it be even more gorgeous if I added more?  yes, but with my thrifty budget mind, I just can't do much more! :o)

Good luck deciding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
